i just got my clutch install n i was wondering wat if i shift a few times over 3k would it be bad n wat about downshifting n do i really have to drive at least 500miles for breaking in

You can Shift at any Rpms as you wish just do not slam through the gears like your racing. When i felt the urge to get on it i took it to redline. pushed in the clutch and waited for the RPMS to drop to 1000-1500 RPMS then Shift. I do 750 miles on my clutch break ins. some people do 200.

does it matter what kind of clutch u have to break in or 500 will do for any clutch cuz my is oem

I usually break in clutches for 250 miles before any type of abuse. The OEM friction material, and some aftermarket friction materials are prone to glazing if too much is asked of a brand new clutch. Glazing is a condition caused by slippage of a fresh clutch, resulting in smoothing of the friction surface thus causing it to continue slipping until it is replaced or deglazed (which requires removal of the clutch). Some aftermarket friction materials are not "glazable" (if that's a word) and do not require a break in period.

50% huh? 50% i think i understand
so is what ur sayin is that i depends on the clutch material if u need to break in or not

This is the idea.. only I let RPM's drop to 3000ish, but the lesser the better I would assume. I replaced my clutch with an Exedy OEM just last fall.

I was told in the break-in period was 3000kms (three thousand kilometers) or 1864 miles. I guess I got a bit of an extra break-in as compared to others! haha
