Default Accurate Location for Water Temp Gauge

posting this in the FI forum because the car is boosted and using a victor x which i know many of you guys use. anyways im wondering if using the bypass hose on the intake manifold would be accurate for a water temp gauge. the outlet on the victor x has an extra 1/8 npt bung which would make for an easy install.

after searching it looks like most people use the oem location or the upper rad hose, but wouldnt this work just as good? here's a pic of where im talking about

anyways what do you guys think?

Is it a mechanical gauge? If so then any tap would be fine.

its electrical but i dont see how that matters. i dont think any spot would work the same. i mean you wouldnt want to tap the lower rad hose because it wouldnt read right until after the thermostat opened.

any other opinions?

I don't see why that wouldn't work. Mine is in the upper radiator hose, and it does take a while for it to start reading, but it usually only takes a couple minutes of driving or idling. It starts reading well before the thermostat opens since I've watched it countless times while bleeding my cooling system, and it will begin reading long before my lower radiator hose gets warm. So the Victor X has a separate bung there? My BLOX has a stupid extra nipple coming off the bypass tube that I capped with a vacuum cap, only to have it degrade over time(the stock clamp I used also cut into it) and leak. I've since sealed/plugged it with Hondabond and a new vac cap to keep it in place while curing

I just replaced mine with the stock one under the distrubutor. Your stock gauge won't work anymore but it isn't really the most accurate anyway.

i know this is the most popular way as i noted in my first post, im asking about accuracy of the bypass hose. i think i should be fine, unless any else thinks otherwise
