I'm turboing my car in the next couple weeks. A homemade setup for my 1990 integra, stock motor, running 5-8 psi. I have a n/a thermal exhaust from which has been on my car before i ever thought about going turbo. I know its optimal to run a 3 inch exhaust, but i really dont have the money to buy another exhaust and dont feel like hassling with selling my current exhaust.
Would it hurt my turbo to run a 2.25 inch exhaust? Are the power gains drastic? to 3 inch.
I am also using 3 inch mild steel mandrel bends to fabricate a downpipe. Will 3inch- to 2.25 be a bad bottle neck? If i have to I'll run open dp.
anyways thanks and any inputs welcomed

You could keep the exhaust you have on there and have a cutout put in your downpipe so when you wanted it to have more power just open up the cutout.

It won't hurt but you could make more power if you went 3".
