Default Turbo backpressure question?

I'm debating if I should go do a full 3in exhaust or keep my current exhaust setup (2 1/4-1/2 piping) and just use an ecutout. I plan to run about 7-8psi with my GT35R and 15-17psi at the track. If I run 7-8psi, I don't wanna keep the ecutout open. Will that be bad for turbo wear?

My goal is to try to quiet my exhaust when driving to the track so I can atleast hear my radio. Are there any suggestions on how to make a 3in exhaust quiet? Thanks in advance guys.

Go 3 in, exhaust can almost never be too big on a turbo setup, power depends on the pressure differential accross the turbine.....and running 15-17 psi at the track, you'll be glad you went 3 in for sure (it'll make a big difference in power).

And with turbo cars, the exhaust usually isn't very loud anyway (turbos are pretty effective mufflers) depends on the exhaust system you use.

A turbo car's exhaust is nothing like a N/A car's exhaust, it's so much quieter. I daily drive my car, exhaust setup is 3" DP, no cat, dual 3" resonators, and an N1 muffler now and it is perfectly fine in car. A bit louder than stock cruising, on par with a quieter catback on a N/A car, like an apexi world sport.

resonators don't hurt performance right? That sounds like a good idea with the dual 3" resonators.

If they do, it's something small like just a handful of RPM. They're basically a straight through glasspack muffler that helps tone done the exhaust. Helps get rid of the buzziness, the drone, and the raspyness of your exhaust
