If your low on funds then you really don't have much of a choice, do you? I would say screw it and give it a shot. Its not recommended by lots of people but then again there are people that have done it. Then again you could just sell that block to an all motor guy and take whatever money you get from that and put it towards your new bottom end. Its either sell it to an all motor guy or press your luck and give it a shot. I say go for it if your really that pressed on dough!

I'd say go for it and run what you have if you don't have the funds for another engine, it all in the tune anyhow. but that is a bit of a large bore. how high is the compression? just start saving up for another engine asap cause eventually its gonna go.

i have an idea....dont go all out and it'll work. Its not that it cant hold any power, but if you try to throw 600-700whp at it, then it might break...stay under the 450whp mark IMO and you'll be just fine

i'll give it a shot. the thing is that i was running allmotor then and had that block ready to go all out, but in the process, i decided to try boost out. right now i have a gsr stock with turbo and it has 325whp. im loving it. i just wanted some suggestions. thanks.

there isnt going to much surface area between adjacent cylinders for the headgasket to seal, like stated earlier it could become a problem

how can you afford all the parts it takes to boost, if you can't afford less parts for NA... doesn't make sense

may i ask a question here instead of starting a new thread for a quick Q?

i'm deciding on displacement (bore) for my complete teardown and rebuild b18c1. 9:1 compression and stock stroke... the HP aim is 550HP, my guess is that would be 24-32psi tops?? not sure. i was thinking of 84mm bore on darton MID sleeves is this safe?

for reliability's sake either resleeve it or trade it to an all motor guy for a smaller bore or unsleeved.

86mm on boost here. nothing wrong, everything fine. Just stay under 450 whp and max of 20lbs of boost. But boy o boy do you get some good tq out of that bore. Wiseco can make the pistons for you, go for std 9.0:1 comp and you'll be fine.

Must be a Florida thing, I know I would be scared to death to boost 86mm.
