8.5:1 to low?

Default 8.5:1 to low?

is 8.5:1 to low for a daily driven turbo motor? i have the drag 3 turbo kit.

ten to twelve pounds daily and fifteen to eighteen at the track. theres a block that has benson sleeves crower rods and arias pistons with a 8.5:1 comp. i dont want it to be very sluggish when i am not boosting.

Higher comp= more power when boosing. If you know MAtt3t4 he boosted around 15psi with 10:1 Compression ratio. The only reason he doesnt have the civic anymore is becuase he lost an injector o ring... Hes go an awsome write up on it at his web site. (not sure what it is sorry)

i went with 10:1 for my ITR motor . i had 8:5:1 on my LS , it was still fast .

im running 8to1 compression wisecos, and pulled 259hp at 10psi on a drag kit with my b16a2. low compression is not that bad, just not that much power till over 5 grand. and no as responsive as a stock motor
