rofl, yeah. I didn't think so. The thing that spawned this was my friend sending me this link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33613

And saying that he was going to boost 60psi when he gets his engine. I was like BS, it's not going to happen... I was hoping for some dyno charts but since it's never going to happen...

There are turbo diesels that operate in that range, but... not many.

Diesel is also a completely different world.

Actual you can boost that much, but not with a turbo though. Lysholm superchargers will boost that high with amazingly high efficiency levels.

Many diesels operate that high by the way. Diesels are usually between 45-75psi.

edit: how do sell a machined block with-out the main caps? I thought they had to be matching.

I could be wrong but I thought some of the cars that run rally at pikes peak push an insane amount of boost... I thought they were over 30-40 psi but not sure aboout 65! Dear god wonder what kind of HEAT that would be making at that kind of speeds.

Actually, it would be pretty simple to boost that much on a supercharger plus turbo setup. Of course, it would blow up before your turbo fully spooled.

I'd like to vivert the topic to the this article

http://www.edmunds.com/news/innovati...7/article.html

It's about SAAB's Variable Compression Engine. It's got a trick head design that lets it vary compression anyways between 8:1 and 14:1. Now neat as that is in an of itself...........It's also equipped with Supercharger that hits 40psi.

Whoever wrote that auction is probably thinking that because Golden Eagle pressure tests their sleeves(which he says he has) at 65 psi, that it can hold 60 psi.

yeah and thats funny cause a stock engine sees 210psi just doing a compression check with the engine off.
