500/300 on a tubular manifold????
ok here is my ? I am running a gsr/84.5mm turbonetics t3/67/1000cc injectors/pfab tubular manifold/tial 38mm gate/all a1000 aeromotive fuel system with -10/edelbrock victor x intake/72mm t.b./stock head with uograded valve springs (cant remember at the moment) stock crank/aem 1040 management/m&w pro14 box/coil on plug.
is it possible to acheive 500/300 on this setup on pump gas. I was told we wouldnt make 400 on it, and we have succeeded past that so far with 404/261@17psi on 91 octane with 16 degress timing.
has anyone done 500+ on a tubular manifold?
Please share your experiences ide love to see what people have done.

oh yeah this is all in a ef so you can see where a ramhorn, or top mount really isnt in the cars, and its a DD.

Yes it can be done but probably not with those cams and your wastegate may not hold it. I presume this is a sleeved block? To get 500 youre going to have to run at least 26 - 28 psi

I have the same turbo as you, there is no reason why it cant make 500+hp in the 20psi range. I make around 450 at 16-17psi, 500 around 19-20psi and 550+ at 23psi using Ethanol and GSR cams, which IMO is the only way to push these cars on "pump" gas safely.

FYI, A Log manifold is not a tubular manifold IMO....... its a log
Since you are referring to a log, I have no idea, I wouldnt consider making 500hp with a log to begin with.

ok I was told it was a pfab tubular log manifold. I originally wanted a ramhorn, but when they said the radiator support bar needed to come out well I didnt like that idea. I am thinkig if we get 500/300 on this Log mani then when I do the topmount I will be extremely happy

ty man talked to my tuner today, and he thinks its possible even on the 38mm waste gate. Understand we will be on the corn boose though lol

Re: 500/300 on a tubular manifold????
umm ok ill do this again I was just over on Evans forum, and his crx made 900whp on a certain log manifold wich shows me you dont need a topmount, or a ramhorn to produce some really nice power.
I think I cleaned up what needed to be there.

You have to remember that u can't compare a cast inline pro manifold(which is what evans used) to a regular log manifold.A flowing manifold like a ram-horn or anything with a merge collector will let the motor have a higher knock limit which is key when making big power on pump gas.

Re: 500/300 on a tubular manifold????
oh I agree with you there, and im am no where under the impression that 900whp can be made on pump lol. I am quite happy making over 400whp on my current manifold. I also understand Evans ran 8 injectors with 2 fuel rails, and a differant intake mani tha I have as well.

Log manifold will be fine. You will most definitely be better off doing it on E85 than pump gas, but a log manifold can easily make that power.

Re: 500/300 on a tubular manifold????
while i think the inlinepro is better than any other cast manifold, the extra 3-400 dollars you would save by sticking with what you have could be used on tuning or something else. The inlinepro will not make crazy amounts more than any other log manifold.

You should be fine to meet your goals.
Similar setup to yours making over 400/300 on pump gas.
Video - Right click & hit save as:

We will be re-tuning it with some modifications to the wastegate & dump tube & shooting for 500 on pump.
