With turbo you want to go 3". If you go custom exhaust .in most cases, it will be cheaper than getting a full 3" thermal. But the thing with Thermal is that you are paying for the nice Stainless steel that will not rust. While most muffler shops use mild steel which rusts, and the rust can eat through the pipping. Stainless steel is an expensive product but worth it...

3 inch mandrel
but i think you knew that..
crush bends are soooo restrictive. this IS going turbo when?? if you do a 3 inch it will be loud but w/ a turbo one the car it runs much more quitely. also if you want to quite route the wastegate back to the exhaust.
3 inch no question for turbo.
oh...maybe you lose lowend torque but the only people running 3 inch exhausts have turbos on the car and the torque i see lost is due to a non tubular manifold and not the exhaust.

Re: 3inch or 2.5 inch (Turbo_Teg)
Ok, sup people? My DRAG kit ought to be here by the end of the week YAY! Anyhow, I've got a few problems with my current setup......
1. 2.25" exhaust.....not 3" but biger than stock I guess.....
2. JDM S1 tranny on an LS motor......ITR gears.....Good for N/A....Bad for boost, I'll prolly swap trannies when/if my new stock clutch starts to go out.
I'm not to worried about the exhaust, It's more the tranny, those gears are really short for an LS motor. Passing power in 5th is nice tho.......4k @ 70MPH isn't tho.....

Are you going to run A/C or not? If you run A/C you have to run 2.5" into 3" and if you're not running A/C yoou can run 3".

you have no choice in the matter, you must go 3" - your egt will drop you will spool faster and you might even run quieter.
