2.25 or 2.5 inch piping?

2.25 or 2.5 inch piping?
turbo b16. Im going to be running a resonator and a es oval exhaust.....how much louder will the 2.5 inch be and will i be losing a lot of power by using the 2.25 inch piping? any input would help. thanks!

That's kind of a mixed bag there. With a turbo,, you want as large of an opening as you can get. That why he suggested a 3 inch. The more you close off the exhaust, the more you limit overall ability to "dump" your wasted pressure. See with a N/A system you want back pressure. With forced induction,, you do not.
But, if you are after quiet, i would go 2.25" and a big muffler.

If you have a 2.5" DP, you shouldn't even be considering a 2.25" exhaust.
I would get a 3" exhaust so you have plenty of room for upgrade as you want more power when you upgrade that DP to 3"

Yeah, you are right. I thought about that later after I left the board. whatever the down-pipe diameter is don't go smaller.

I made over 300whp on a 2.5", turbo style rear muffler and a cat with my stock B16 and it was really quiet...until full boost you can deffinatly get away with a more restrictive exhaust if you have open wastegate.
