Default 3" downpipe?...

hey everyone

i just recently bought a 3" downpipe and was wondering if the diameter of the hole of the downpipe flange really matter...its a 3" dp and the diameter of the hole is 2.5"...does it really mater if its a 2.5" or a 3"....i got a sc61 w/ e cover...help anyone!!!

yep that's what happened with my t3/t04e. I had the 4 bolt flange. So I asked around and found a guy named BROOD that sells 2.5" to 3" adapters. They sell for under $20 shipped when I bought it. It works great and flow doesn't seem to be too disturbed by the design. You can try to weld the 3" DP right on, but then you'll notice that the bolts to the flange won't go on correctly. I think people either crushed it in a little or something else....not too sure since I went the other route

To put it simply:
Yes, because the exhaust gasses are compressed a great deal. They expand after leaving the turbine.

The outlet on an SC61 is over 2.5 inches so yes, it will make a difference.

see i was hoping since the dp is 3" the diameter of the hole is 3" too...but i guess i though wrong....it was a spooling performance dp...the dp look nice bit thats is just the only thing that is buggin me...
