i need to know the differences in these 2 turbos, i know the are both tdo5h and from a 1stgen eclipse, with same housing and all but then compressor side fins are different,

does it have any thing to do with spool and etc, which 1 is better


same housing, diff fins


diff numbers


hass a bigger inlet with beveled edge, dual fin design


smaller inlet with straight edge, single fin design


exhuast side, middle cartridge is a little different

The one on the right with the two different heights of compressor fins is not a 14b. It is some 16g variant, either a "big" or small 16g. it did not come on an Eclipse.

are yall guys sure its a 16g, because i pulled it off a eclipse, im pretty sure it was an eclipse, it was at the junk yard, but maybe the previous owner upgraded the turbo, does anyone know when the 16g hits full boost at 10psi, bkuz mine hits at 4500ish bkuz of the chipped fins, can anyone verify this for me, or show me some other 16g turbo pictures, thanks

 

the 16g is a stright replacement for the 14b so most def. the previous owner upgraded. Go with the 16g as the other guys said, it's a much better flowing turbo!

 

the turbo on the right is mine, i been using is i was just going to get a better one bkuz the fins are chipped and that might have affected my turbo spool but i dont know, can anyone tell me that, as well as some leaking but it works, it pulls hard ill tell you that tho

looks like the difference is just the compressor wheel, same td housing just 16g vs 14b
