I see that it says head is shaved, if you do get boost, I suggest you lower your compression. It depends how much of the head was shaved though. If the compression is not too much higher than stock it should be ok running samll amounts of boost. Out of all the dynos I have seen of different set ups there is no doubt that FI is superior when it comes to horsepower to $ ratio. You can spend $10 k on an all motor set up and not even get close tho the same amount of power as some dude who spent $3 grand on a turbo and maybe $1500 on pistons and rods and maybe another $1k on electronics and feul. Since you have $1300 and you think you want to go to go boost, I suggest buying something you can use later on when you get turbo or SC. It all depends on what type of racing you want to do too.If you want to go turbo, it sounds like you might be more into drag racing, I you were into road racing and auto X I think suspension upgrades would be the next step for you.

b16 head on a gsr block thats what i have but with teh ITR intake manfold and TB
go with the civic R pistons from what keep hearing wth the b16 head on the b18c1 block you will be around 12.25-1 (w/b16 head and civic R pistons) and the car WILL pull a lot

I notice a lot of people on this board are recommending the use of OEM pistons etc.
IMHO, that is useless, especially when it comes to going turbo. What is the point going out and spending on Civic R pistons and you can probably spend less on a good set of JE Pistons in what ever size and compression U want. Guys dont be fooled, although Honda is an excellent company and I have owned several cars from them, the swapping of internal OEM parts is not a good idea, furthermore, how are we sure we are really getting Civic R pistons? Has anyone seen civic Rs in this country available for sale? I am noticing lots of people claiming they have Civic R pistons, I would like to know where are all these pistons coming from.
