Default Type R Turbo 9:1 compression compared to Gsr Turbo 9:1 daily driver WHP on pump gas

Trying to get a general idea of how the Type R head behaves under boost compared to the gsr, or b16 under the same boost levels. Advantages are that you are getting a street port, better intake manifold, bigger throttle body, and better cams for the most part. Obviously if you are going to fully build everything it won't matter in the long run, but assuming you are leaving your head stock and lowering compression, I'd be interested in seeing what kind of numbers the type R puts down over the gsr. Any dyno set of the same turbo and boost level is what I'm looking for. If this had been covered please send me the link. Thanks.

There'd be barely any negligible difference in the GSR and ITR head.

Even most "all motor" guys start with the less expensive b16 head and go from there, and those guys need every edge they can get.

You'd be better off focusing on raising that compression level above the miserable 9:1 you're going with. That will be a very bland car to drive when not in boost.

I would say the itr head will make more power but due more to the cams and intake rather than porting. just usr a b16 or gsr head with itr cams and an appropriate valvetrain.

as for the lower static you can add ignition timing in vacuum to increase throttle response and low end tq

P72 GSR head has a smaller combustion chamber then the B16/Type R PR3. (why I chose the GSR)

So all things being equal the compression will actually be higher with the GSR head. But the ITR cams are going to outperform the GSR cams by a decent amount.

GSR head + ITR cams

Also, shoot a little higher than 9:1. I wouldnt put together a built Honda at less than 10:1 CR
