from my researches over the years. the answer is yes and no. yes if you don't have a good tuner. lower compression gives more head room for error, and no for a tuner that knows what he is doing. he might be on the conservative side with it though. judge your tuner by what engine management system he is better at tuning. you might have to travel a lil for the better tuner but well worth it.
