Yeah it's about 12 psi I don't really have problems with boost creep.Would changing the plugs help with the mis Fire? I was trying to turn off the boost by gear, when I click the enable boost by gear it would only build 6psi of boost on all gears

Agreed. I'm lucky I live on the outer city limits. About 1 mile from my house I have long flat open country roads.

As for the misfire log batt voltage and afr next time. Wouldnt hurt changing the plugs. Can you feel the stumble?

I'm on hondata s300. Idk don't have my wide band hook up. O2 bung is welding in a bad position , so I just left I'll get that fixed today. But I don't feel the car stumble at all actually

Logging AFRs is essential. Get that working before doing much more. Make sure your distributor is synced with the ECU as well.

(Let car idle, in S300 you should be able to lock timing at 16 degrees, grab timing light and make sure its hitting that center mark on the crank pulley.)

A 4th gear pull to redline will result in a MUCH higher cost than the going rate of a ~$200 ticket. Jail time, lawyers, etc add up to a lot more than that. The highest speed limit that I am aware of in Indiana is 70mph. Unless of course you are lucky and get let off, but ISP aren't usually that forgiving at least north of Indy. Let alone the chance of getting into a wreck from something like a deer or problem with your car /road. Sorry, I just hate to see people be stupid on the roads when may be driving on that same road with my family. To each his own, and whatever you are comfortable with I guess.

Guys, that's S300 / SManager logs. CROME data telemetry sucks big time in comparison. With the S300 you can just add more graphs as you please. All the datalog information is already there, just create your new filter on an existing datalog.

I understand. Its inherently more dangerous. And I dont ever do it unless I feel like its as safe of a condition that it can be (IE no traffic in front of me for 1/4 mile for braking room). I'm sure your average person gets in there head a bunch of dumb young people weaving in an out of traffic "racing" when they think of this kind of stuff. As far as the police, well I've gotten lucky so far. I will be investing in a Valentine 1 in the near future though.

It literally takes me about 6 seconds to do 70-130 and be braking again. The slower cars are actually more dangerous IMO. But when I was only making 300whp I could get away with tuning on farm roads with literally no one around, 3rd gear pulls only going to 90 or so.

Phaphoon check out this thread

Just found it and is a good read.

http://www.miataturbo.net/ecus-tunin...actices-56374/

I wish ht members shared more advice like this. Every other forum is open to sharing maps and diffrenet techniques most people here besides ddtech is so vague with helping out

Yes, good find indeed, not sure how I never knew about that thread before. Going to have to go kick my Miata buddies asses now haha. I knew a lot of it, but the step by step is definitely helpful. Since I plan for dyno time this year it definitely helps enlighten my perspective. Thanks for sharing!

Heres a 3rd gear pull Im being a bitch about leaning it out where its rich and keep leaning it only a percent or 2 at a time. The motor pulls pretty good so I think these are good numbers. I have to figure out this damn boost creep. I think the wastegate might have a leak.

After reading that post dc legacy made about virtual dyno tonight I moved the smoothing from 1-5 and the numbers moved only about 10-15 so it should be a good graph. I think ill clean up the rich spots and leave It here for now considering its a stock b20

Nice job on tuning it yourself. Yeah lean that thing out to mid 11s and try to get your afrs graph as flat as you can. My afrs usually only move around by .2-.3 at the most once I'm on target in boost.

Maybe you are getting boost creep because your timing is too conservative for e85. How much timing are you running at 14psi?

on that run I am at 12.5 degrees. I think that's the problem.

at around 14 from wot at 3k rpm. I want to add more in sooner but really want to do it on a dyno idk how accurate these virtual runs are for mbt

Is 12.5* total logged timing or is there another compensation table that adds to it? I think I'm running about 22* total timing at 14 psi up top and im just on 92 octane. That's total logged timing though, what's in my main ignition table is less.

Fastest way to do it is to simply divide your target AFR with your actual and that will you give you a ratio (minus 1 , x100).

Ex. you're shooting for 11.5, and you have 12.5, 11.5/12.5 = .92 so you want an 8% increase.

Heres a recent map, maybe a 1.5yr old. Kind of cool you can see the torque curve in the graph.

I can get the afr dialed in no problem. I have driven the car a total of maybe 7 miles since i rescaled the fuel map. Its basically starting from scratch when you do that. My fuel numbers you see dont mean anything.

There is a setting called micro/sec bit that you can increase or decrease and it changes the resolution of the entire map.
