Default **My boosted setup/plans! help choosing between two turbos**

Well my goal its to hit anywhere between 450-500whp on pump gas on my street driven car ! That being said here is the setup that I plan on finishing in the near future(4-6 months)!

-BLOCK
84mm sleeved ls block
9.1 je pistons
Eagle rods
Arp headstuds
Stock crank
Itr water/oil pumps

-HEAD
B16 head stock
Supertech valvetrain
Sk2 tuner stg 1 cams
Edelbrock ported I'M w/ 70mm tb
1000cc's
GE fuel rail

With the goals I have in mind, I am confused on what turbo kit I should proceed with! I have the head complete already and transmission, just got to built the block! These are my two choices:

Gt30r or a sc61??????

I just don't want too much lag from the turbo! My friend is selling me a brand new sc61 t3/t4 turbo for 600 BRAND NEW! Should I buy it?

if your going 84mm you might as well up your whp estimate and get a 35R

The GT30R should do close to 450whp @ 17psi on pump gas.

Keep in mind that sc61 you are talking about is more similar to a 35r then 30r.

Yea I know, but isn't the gt35r bigger?

I say 450whp so I can be happy if I'm around that range.

I just think that the gt30r will have better response and less lag!

I say the GT35R with a .63ar exhaust housing. It will let you keep a decent spool time but make more power than that GT30

I think I'm going with the sc61...should I do a 81.5 ls block instead of a 2.0? I only want 450whp!

83mm is a good bore. Leaves you room for future rebuilds.

if the block is going to be sleeved you better go to 84mm, that still leaves you room for rebuilding. If your NOT sleeveing it then keep it at 81.25mm or 81.5mm max! and to answer your turbo question the 30R is the best choice, it will spool a lot faster and i have seen them make a bit over 500whp.
