**Does Painting an Intercooler Black, Decrease Performance??

the performance difference is negligible. It might decrease the effeciency in theory but in actuality, you'll only be running around .5 degrees more. My brother's teg was turbo'd with a flat black intercooler earlier in the summer in arizona and it worked just fine. Just hit it with a few light coats and don't clog the fins because that's what's doing to cooling, not the face of the intercooler.

make sure you use a good metal paint or it could come off to easy. like in the rain on the high way or something like that. it will just wear off. good paint.
I might be painting mine while its down for engine work. There's a company online that sells a black radiator paint which should work perfect for anyone that wants to do this. http://www.eastwoodco.com/
