Other than that Im the only one crazy enuf around my way that uses this much juice everyone else is boosted. I have a buddy here injecting water/meth with his turbo setup he claims its safe to run as a substitute to NO2? anyone know if thats accurate?
2. what are piston rings gapped too

.010 .016 .008 ptw stock spec.
because OEM-spec+forged+nitrous=
suprised that it lasts so long
even if you used the specs provided by your piston supplier they are to small.
allmotor specs are to tight for nitrous
turbo specs are about right when building a nitrous setup
and probably your pistons are geared towards allmotorperformance
most of the time your ringlands are freakishly thin for nitrous
you don't have deep pockets???
if you do everything right the first time it costs a lot less then rebuilding every season.
100shot is nice but not much, ran 150 on the streets on a bone stock setup

re: ***The Official Nitrous Thread***
If you RAN 150 in the past to your bone stock set up what happened to it? My internals are nearly stock oem except for those pistons and I do have a set of 9:1 mahle's laying around which are used and got for noting, should I use since they would be for a low compression turbo setup like you explain? Oh yea I like the deep pockets one liner good one, Ive done the rings twice and both times just around $150. Crome software is free, hardware is not and tuning isnt either one of these days I will get it tuned for know its not happening. Keep it coming *** BAGS.

re: ***The Official Nitrous Thread***
When I build nitrous motors with forged internals I usually run 0.0010-0.0015 looser PTW clearance than the piston manufacture recommends and .020-.022 top ring and .024-.026 second ring and oil ring .015 minimum hope this helps.

re: ***The Official Nitrous Thread***
i'm not suggesting that u use turbo-hardware, just turbo clearances
PTW on a turbo setup is way looser then allmotor. that's not because the pistons are different, but the useage is. turbo generates alot more heat then allmotor, hence the looser settings.
then go think what effect nitrous has on the combustiontemps and make up your mind on the clearances.
ghostofnyc hit the nail on the head with what i meant, keep the high cr, just adjust clearances for the type of usage!
crome software is free, chipping is near free (~35bucks), ostrich for realtime editing is 150ish. so all in all you'd spend less then 200 bucks on a fully tuneable setup.
+
tuning is free, it's called do it yourself and it ain't that hard
we´re not assraping you, we´re just giving a hand

re: ***The Official Nitrous Thread***
they were all in spec .006 to .008 if your talking about endplay. oil clearance .0013 to .0015 no turn on crank yet I might polish it this time will that effect it?? to much of a difference across in those specs you think?

So i just happen to have 55 gallons of pro power purple 114 octane race fuel laying around. What could i do with that? If i make a separate fuel supply for the nitrous could i leave the timing where it is given the octane rating?

I used to run two stages of nitrous starting with a 125 shot wet direct port then adding a 65 wet fogger. Thats a 190 shot. It lasted a long time but wouldnt et like I wanted it to. It was easy to 60ft the car but it always ran out of go on the top end. SO I went to the dark side (boost) and im getting the et's I want now.

re: ***The Official Nitrous Thread***
Interested in doing a Wet kit on my stock B18a1. Has about ~155,000 on it. Would like just a simple 35-75 shot on stock internals. Would upgrade to a 255 LPH fuel pump and 440 cc injectors. It would be my daily. I wouldnt spray much though. Just for fun as its stock. Would it be ok to spray?
