Hey guys, I am planning on partnering up with a friend next year and possibly purchasing a dyno, we decided I would handle import tuning. where can I find good resources so I can learn everything I need to know to tune a vehicle properly, I will be getting in touch with AEM and Hondata and possibly some other companies and see if they will give me the up and down on there products, but I would still like to know what I am doing ahead of time. thanks guys.

is "efi 101" a book? I figured i would learn the most by doing, but i still want to make sure i know what i am talking about and have some decent efi/ignition knowledge.
i think i would concentrate on learning how to tune before breaking the bank with a dyno as its not an overnight process.
i agree with JR though. Books and things can only teach you so much. Getting the experience and applying concepts you learned in training yourself will be worth more than any certification. Dont get me wrong, nice to have in your portfolio....but anyone who can read and comprehend something in writing can pass these classes.
what is your knowledge of internal combustion and programming? lets start off with that considering we have no idea of your level.

i wouldn't consider the dyno unless I knew I could tune no problem. I had a falling out with the only local performance dyno, plus he doesn't even know how to tune EFI, he has a friend that does that for him. so I really have nobody to learn from, so for now, I am stuck with the theory.

I am planning on purchasing an s300 in september to do that exact thing, learn on an actual vehicle. thanks all for the replies.
Do your self a favor, don't buy a dyno. It is much easier to rent dyno time and experiment that way if you have a local shop that will allow you to do so. Having the overhead of a dyno is alot to take on if you are not sure of your tuning skills.
