Re: Need help tuning in Seattle (JuuKe_EM)
I would also like to know also. I know Intec in Kent has a dyno and they do tuning but I am not sure what they tune and how good they are. I also heard that Speedline in Tacoma is moving to a new facility that is dyno equiped, which might have already happened. C-speed in Bellingham is also supposed to be able to tune but I believe they dont have a dyno. Thats all I know.... Lets see if anyone chimes in on any experiences with these places or others.

Crescent from C-speedracing is a good tuner.
If you come down here to Portland Ground Zero can tune your setup as well.

Re: Need help tuning in Seattle (JuuKe_EM)
I personally haven't done any tuning at Carb Connection in Kirkland,(425-820-1871) but the guys there seem rather knowledgeable. They have the musclecar/exotic car guys working there that know carbs inside and out and then they have a couple guys there that handle all their imports; so the muscle car guys aren't touching your car- don't worry.
I know they tune Hondata and I am pretty sure about them also tuning AEM. All shops around Seattle have had good and bad reviews. I like the guys at Carb Connection and that is where I'll take my car for the initial tune and hopefully I can watch and get a good foundation before I start street tuning my car by myself.
I have heard good things about Ground Zero outside of Portland- no personal experience though..... Same goes for C-speed in Bellingham.....
I'd suggest calling the different shops and asking them what their preferred tuning system is and their reasoning behind it. Tuning isn't something you want to take any risks on. So hopefully other people can give personal experiences of their own tuning at various shops.
Good luck!

Good advice.
So carb connection can tune hondata? They are a lot closer to me then c-speed. I knew they had a dyno but i dodn't know that they tuned hondata.

I second Carb Connection, one of my buddies highly recommended them to me. GroundZero in Portland is also VERY VERY good, if you can I'd go there. C-speed is good, but I don't believe that Cresent has a dyno (atleast he didn't last I talked with him) just street tuning.

Yeah the only place I heard about is C-speedracing. Was thinkin if there was no other place worth taking it to I go there. Tuning is the most important so its hard to decide where to go at this point. Don't want to make a wrong choice and blow my **** up

Re: Need help tuning in Seattle (b16ahybrid)
About a week ago I was talking with Nells at Carb Connection (he is the more senior of their import specialists), and he mentioned he recently tuned a (I think) b20vtec turbo and got somewhere around 400hp at the wheels with Hondata. If I can remember correctly the guy was running 72# injectors and they had the idle speed turned up to 1100 rpm to keep the idle extremely smooth.
Most of the cars they've done are fairly conservative- so I think that is the largest hp Honda/Acura they have done. Nells and (I think) Pat are their two import guys there. I am pretty sure they have done all the training with Doug from Hondata down in Cali- and they are working towards selling and tuning enough Hondata's to become a listed dealer for Hondata on the website.
You can read about several awesome Ground Zero cars if you do a search and find timeslips too- maybe even videos. Again, the same with C-speed, who offers excellent street tuning but from what I've heard, no dyno- you could probably convice him (for a price) to come down and tune on a dyno locally and street tune too.... I haven't talked to him for a long time.....
I felt like a Carb Connection advertisement for a second- so I felt obligated to throw in info about the other two companies... Carb Connection might let you see some of the dyno runs and air fuel ratios if you stop by- since they are relatively close to home....
Talk to all of them and go with who you feel most comfortable with... I don't think you can really go wrong with any of those three....
Good night!

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Horsepower/Torquefreaks. Sean at torquefreaks is probably the best tuner in the Northwest, maybe even the entire West Coast. http://www.torquefreaks.com

Thats great but they are in OR. I know Donny at Import Specialties in Tacoma can tune Hondata, they also have a dyno.

import specialties does NOT tune hondata last i checked (a few months ago)... they just call up c-speed and then they come down and tune at import specialties facility.
if you want to get the emangage, fastlane in tacoma has experience tuning with it. but i would suggest just getting a hondata and have c-speed (or import specialties) tune it.
