tune gone bad?
so i went to jeff evans tunning today to get my engine tuned. he put it on the dyno and did 3 pulls. worked the laptop a little. and said he was done in 45 mins. this motor has been built before from the same mechanic with a few less mods. and made 225whp. well jeff tryed telling me he can only get 190whp out of my setup. and has vtec set at 7THOUSAND rpms. and redline at 8800. i feel like i got ripped off. what do u guys think? and this is the build.
block:ls boored and honed .20 over blue printed and hot tanked. crank polished and balanced. p30 pistons with pr3 rings. golden eagle lsvtec kit. everything else brand new oem stuff. moroso oil pan. walbro 255 fuel pump
head: brand new type R head from honda. skunk2 pro2 cams, skunk2 pro series springs and retainers. skunk2 adjustible cam gears. type r intake mani and tb ported and polished. golden eagle fuel rail, rc440 cc injectors, type r throttle cable.cold air with velocity stack intake, real DTR header, aeromotive fuel presure regulator. 2.5 inch tanabe exhaust
transmission: b16 trans with carbon fiber syncro's, , act HD presure plate, act 8lb flywheel, 4 puck clutch disc
running in hondata s300
might be forgetting some things
here is the dyno sheet i got
stuff that my engine builder checked prior to the tune. and jeff never check any of this. The compression is 250psi in all 4 cylinders. The leak down is less then 20percent in all 4 cylinders. Piston to wall is 1 thousand. and rings are spaced acording to oem specs.(17 and 19) Every single thing in that motor is brand new and oem from honda. No corners cut.Bearing clearences .0015 in all locations. im not trying to bash jeff evans tuning at all. im just curious to see what everyone thinks. i just read up and did my homework and pretty sure this set up should make at least 220whp let me no what u guys think

Unless it was tuned before on Jeff's dyno as well, you can't really compare numbers. Might be a different brand dyno or have different settings. Jeff always makes good numbers from setups that are capable, so that's basically what yours is capable of.
While 7000 may seem high for VTEC, your power curve looks nice and smooth, as it should be.

LS VTEC 12.5:1 SK2S2 Cams 202hp, not over 220

That head is ported, if you read the next post in the thread. It's not your setup, as I said each setup runs differently, whether it's close to identical or not. Also, if he didn't adjust your cam gears that can also make a difference.
Anyway, I've already given you the feedback you needed. I'll leave other people to comment.
If you're not happy, go talk to him about it.

a ported head could make a pretty significant difference in power as well. same with how much you want jeff to push the motor. what the afr's are and how much timing you have into it will tell you a lot. your tuner will tune accordingly to how far you want to push it...but everything has their limits. who knows how hard he was pushing the other builds.
There is a restriction in your setup its as simple as that. The cams your running do compliment your compression ratio. But the stock head flow characteristics are showing their head as your are limited on power by this.
You should either be happy with the 190whp that you have. Or tear the head off and send it out too get port and polished. Then retune and see the difference not only in peak numbers but in the powerband as well.
