Default TPS cel nightmare

Hey guys,

First time posting/trial user! Hope this is the right place to ask questions haha

My throttle body and TPS and cel code #7 (throttle position sensor) has been driving me crazy over the past few months..ive tried everything I can think of at this point with no luck so getting pretty discouraged.

I'm running the s2 pro series intake manifold and 70mm alpha TB on my (basically stock) d16z6 - 95 civic ex coupe

Two problems im having..

1. Throttle Stop Screw: (I know it's been asked before and it's ridiculous)

What is the Throttle Stop Screw stock specifications for my engine?
I foolishly took it completely off a while ago and have been trying to get it back to normal (stock spec) ever since.
Honda says not to adjust it at all so there's no info there.
I'm assuming it gets set at a certain height, then the idle is adjusted by the red flat head adjustment screw? Been doing a lot of research and guess work with these particular screw so a definite procedure for setting it would be awesome.

2. The MAJOR issue I've been having the most difficulty with.. CEL#7 TPS throttle position sensor:

I've been getting this code for months now and no matter what I do it will NOT go away. Slightly rough idle and definitely a noticeable power/mpg loss. Then the light comes at 5k rpm every single time and runs even worse until I restart the car but it always comes back! It doesnt come on if i keep it under that but this car is slow so I need every rpm I can get lol

So far I have..

Calibrated all three TPS wires probably 50 times now and all checks out with correct voltage (.48-.49v 5v and ground continuty all set perfectly).

Replaced the sensor twice. No gaps or jumping on sweep test.

Replaced the plug with a brand new one.

Got a thick new thermal 70mm TB gasket.

Thoroughly cleaned the TB and IACV.

Bled coolant several times incase of air in the sytem

Even plugged the port with my hand to check for vac leaks and it cut off almost immediately so none of those.

This has been a battle to say the least so I'm desperate for a fix and to love driving my honda again.

Thanks for reading, really hope I don't have to live with this evil orange light!

You need to probe the Signal wire at the computer and verify the signal is getting to it. If it's got a sweeping .50 -3.5v smooth than the tps will work based on stock requirements.
If the voltages at ecu connectors check out(Do NOT shuv **** in then move on to tuning it in.

With stock ecu i'm pretty sure procedure is like this.

1 jump 2 pin CEL connector 2. Loosen TPS 3. Start Engine unplug IAC connector 4. set adjustment screw until engine idles around 490rpm 5. Plug IAC back in 6. Adjust TPS sig wire to around .50v closed throttle 7. Unplug CEL jumper wire thingie and done.

Okay cool I'll try this procedure next thanks man really appreciate the step by step.
When you say to "set the adjustment screw" do you mean the big flat head by the tps (on the tb) or the THROTTLE STOP screw? I should have never touched that one in the first place cause now I have no idea how to get it back to whatever stock was.

also when setting the rpm with IACV unplugged do you need a scan tool? Or is this done by just looking at the tachometer?

thanks again for your patients/help

still have the stock one! Thank goodness..are the 70mm alpha known to have problems or something?
Love my full S2 setup but will ditch it in a flash if it's possibly causing problems.. accelerating is kinda stumbly and power is unpredictable in low rpm so maybe it's the TB! That would really be something lol

70mm throttle body is fine if you actually need it. Just putting things like TB's and Cam Gears on without doing everything else same time(ecu) is worse then leaving it stock.

Different TB's builds will effect tps signal min/max. You can get away without a problem or code if you have at least 80% range. If your TB is that loose and shitty you might loose your Clear Flood use. I don't know of anything requiring the ecu to see 100% Throttle.

Put your meter on the signal wire at ecu. Foot off Throttle .5v and WOT at least 3.5v. Sounds like your ecu is not seeing the TPS Signal at all.

Honda's voltage threshold for wide open throttle is 4.20v+.
