ive had this problem on 2 cars now.
symptoms:
cold start idle surge (1200rpm-1500rpm)
cel 14 (iacv)
feels like tps has dead spot from 0%-20% (sucks for cruising cause the throttle acts like an on/off switch)
once the engine comes up to operating temp the idle is perfect and it doesnt trigger the cel right away. it also wont act like there is a dead spot as often.
but once the cel comes on, the dead throttle spot is constant.
the cel will clear instantly if i cycle the key.
i looked around for this problem and didnt come up with anything..
in crome the idle controls are at 900rpm and 8% iacv compensation..nothing crazy i thought..
thanks,
jack

Try cleaning the IACV with brake or carb cleaner. You could also test if the IACV is causing the TPS dead spot by disabling it in a P30/P72 or Gold map.
