Default PGMFI with tps?

I've read that Neptune can be used to mod an ecu to run with a tps, like for running ITBs, can someone shed some light on this for me? I'm building a custom creation and am trying to figure out how to tune it. My budget won't allow for a hondata or megasquirt system so please narrow comments toward modifying oem electronics please.

Neptune isnt free FYI

You can run map, TPS, or alpha-N for TPS. all you have to do is tell the software what you are using for primary load and setup the TPS voltages correctly.

Crap, Neptune is more expensive than megasquirt! How about with Crome? I have a friend that uses Crome a lot in his shop...

so you want ITB's but you cant afford to use a software fully capable of tuning ITB properly?

Crome can be done with ITB tools added.

Yeah I was just reading about Crome itb tools, and my tuner pal is pretty confident he can work up a tune, he has never done ITBs before but has tuned like 5 boosted cars and like 20 NA cars. Now I just gotta figure out how to simulate the dizzy with some form of hall-effect sensor (as I'm putting it on a CDI motorcycle, there's no dizzy) any ideas on that? I can machine a crank angle wheel no problem if that's the easiest way to do it...

Good luck getting a digital hall effect sensor to work on a Honda Ecu designed for an analog cam/crank signal input. Go with MegaSquirt if you want that level of tuning.

Maybe I could just machine an adaptor to hook one of the bike cams to the honda dizzy, to get the proper signals to the ecu. But maybe I'll just get a much newer set of carbs instead, that's much better documented, and takes up a lot less space.

As was already mentioned, the honda distributor used varaible reluctors, not Hall effect sensors. The ecu can be tricked into taking 5V square waves as long as they're sequenced correctly but you'll need another processor to create them.

You're making yourself a lot of work to try and run an engine management that's intended for a very limited range of applications.

Why not find yourself a used haltech sprint 500 or something? It can be configured to run just about anything with a cam and crank sensor (even with a Honda distributor) and will do everything you need.

Carbs suck IMO.

Carbs are garbage. You can tune ITBs on crome. It's more reliable on Neptune, but it can be done either way.
