I just got a 95 civic hatch, the problem is the guy told me it was a b18c block with a b16 head, the block has the numbers scratched off due to him wanting to restamp it because it was previously scratched and couldnt tell anyways, I was pretty iffy about that, but taking it for a ride it felt snappy and it would be hard to a d series but I could be wrong, is there any way I can tell what type of block it is other than the stamp by the tranny? Also he said it has CTR cams in it but it feels like it has an idle problem, it doesnt have a tac, but when it idles it goes up and down, up and down, then you can hear the idle raise up and fall, he said the cams have a bigger lift to them and thats why they do that? Any help would be appreicated, I am new to Hondas and most of my time goes into my Camaro, need a daily driver and found this deal.
