i just got my integra started today first time trying and it started up first try. But when it started the RPMs shot up to 4k and sat for maybe 30 seconds then started to move up slowly. I adjusted the throttle cable to make sure that wasnt stuck open. (it was kinda so i fixed that). i started it again same thing this time went to 3500 and slowly up.

what else could this be? idle screw? vaccum leaks? IACV?

i would try cleaning your FITV and IACV then go from there. it probably wouldnt be the idle screw if the idle slowly raises.
