IAT placement
Good afternoon everyone! I have a quick question. I have a EM1 that i just installed a Jackson charger on and ill be tuning it on my own here soon. My question is I have the IAT on the stock location on the intake arm. should I leave the sensor there or hook it up the on one that is on the manifold? Also ill be around 10-12 pounds of boost will the stock MAP sensor be sufficient?
Thank you in advance!

The intake tube iat sensor location is fine.
Your stock map sensor reads up to 11 psi.
You will need to block the stock map sensor location on the top of your throttle body & run a vacuum source from the back of the charger to your map sensor so it can properly read positive manifold pressure.

Thank you mtber,
Wouldnt i get more actuate temp readings after the charger? or does that not even matter? I will be going through you to get my Neptune RTP

Relocating the iat to mount it on the jrsc will work well too.
I would recommend reading from the IAT sensor in the JRSC manifold. The intake manifold will see dramatic fluctuations in IAT readings. Depending on your location and the weather, it is possible to register temperature readings inside the manifold ranging from -32'F to +248'F. IAT fuel compensation tables will need to add fuel above 160'F to help combat the heat and minimize detonation. If you read from the inlet tube, your total fluctuation area may only be 100'F from low to high, and you can reach the upper limits under MANY different driving conditions, not just WOT.
Ok i will move that to the JRSC manifold. That was my thinking as well! Thank you mtber and JRcivic1. I have read every artical and book i can get my hands on and i feel confident tuning the car myself. First street tune and then take it to the dyno. Ill be using NepTune and the only thing I am worried about is calibrating the sensors... MAP,o2, spark, dwel, injectors, and duration. Is that needed with Neptune?
