Default EcTune issues.?

I am running EcTune on my LS/T setup and for some reason, everytime I go to start the car without the program and tuned map running, it just cranks over and won't start.

But as soon as I load and run the programmed Map (that is and has been saved to the ECU) it starts up no problem.

Does anyone know why this is or have had issues with this before? Is there some setting that I am missing when I save the new tuned MAP to the ECU?

I cannot start the car without my computer hooked up and the program running, regardless if I tuned and saved the MAP previously.

I'd really like to be able to go out to my car, start it, drive it, etc. without having to load the map from my computer every single time.

THANKS!

OSTRICH? if so maybe the battery inside the emulator is bad causing it to lose memory when not powered up?

That is what I originally thought, and changed the batteries but still same issue happens. I can try again.

Maybe its time for a new Ostrich, but if I can stay away from that, I'd really like to.
Unfortunately I don't have a spare Ostrich to test out.

haha yea EcTune still going strong for the most part. So update:

I changed out the battery (turns out it had a bad cell) and put the new one in. Started the car right up! Not sure why now unless maybe to due with battery voltage offsets...?? LightningTeg you know a lot more than I, what do you think?

Does anyone know what happened with the ectune website though?
I was just lookign into this since my turbo civic is ectune and about to get a rebuild.
Wondering how I can find someone who can tune it or the ability to get the software and tune it myself

Was originally going to use eCtune and I decided to go with Neptune for a couple of reason. Calvin was unreliable and yearly renewal license fee.

I have r19 tuner edition.

If you don't have the proper EXE files, you can't save bins to burn. If you have an emulator, the commonly available r17 regular exe is fine. Didn't know there was a converter, I don't need it but nice to know.

The demon version also needs the demon EXE, which I don't think I have.

And it's a shame ectune went down, was just a few months ago when the site died, or I'd have all the exes, I've even made an offer to take over development with no response.

And rhdintegra, as much as I'm willing to help anyone out, ahem, I was already warned once about offering eCtune for free on here. Just a heads up.

If anyone wants to discuss more, pm me.

I just want to say, as I have received numerous PMs from this post..

I will not openly pirate this software. I am willing to give some limited support to help get people running. Anything more than that will require consultancy fee for my time.

I have had several people message me claiming to own tuner versions and asking for the files - I am not really OK with that. If you legitimately own the software, I have *recently* been in touch with eCtune people on Facebook. That is your best bet. Failing that, you can ask for my help. I may or may not help you depending on your situation but again, I will not simply send out the required files! If you have obtained them yourself and need SOME help, I can answer specific questions. If you want me to walk you through it, then you can pay for my time.

I actually did my best to help shut someone down who was hacking/pirating/modifying ectune and calling it their own because I am also a software developer and I understand the work that goes into this.

TL;DR:

I wont pirate eCtune! I MAY help answering SPECIFIC QUESTIONS to help you set it up IF you have the files yourself, anything more will require you to pay for my time - and paying for my time will NOT buy you the files you need from me either to be clear.
