Default Demon moates for Neptune

My demon is dead. I was perfectly installed. I was just making some idle tuning and suddenly neptune crashes. I restart the software but this time it couldn't connect to demon. When I open the ECU I realize the demon has no LEDs on, demo is dead.
I will get a new one, but I want to know is this is a common issue or I had very bad luck.

Moates released Demon Firmware 1.9 last year to fix a very random issue where the unit could overflow the buffer, corrupt RAM, and get stuck on next power up. This would not happen to everyone (<1%). If you did the update and still had the unit die then you simply had bad luck. If you didn't do the update you likely weren't running the latest software either, since it would have told you there was an update available.

If you were running 1.9 then that wasn't the issue.

Sorry to hear about that. Are the people at Moates gonna help you and repair it or are you going to have to buy a new one?

Yes they will, but that's not my concern.
I am pretty sure that demon died because a data transmition problem, and if thats the case, it can happen again. I was resetting the demon when this happend. Maybe like a firmware update, if something go bad during this process, it will die.

I am very far from US, so RMA is expensive and take a lot of time. I hope this don't happen again.

Resetting the Demon could have sealed the deal if it was already in a failing state. Let Moates know this.

Yes, it wouldn't matter what software you reset it with. If it was failing engaging the reset could have sealed the deal.
