Default Crankshaft Balancing???

Hey guys, I am in the process of rebuilding my B18c1 and yesterday I accidentally knocked the crankshaft over, half landed on my foot and half on the floor then rolled over. This happened in my garage with a wooden floor. Kind of hard to explain but it fell. I am curious is this enough to throw off the balance?

Unfortunately the only way to know for sure is to get it balanced.
Some cranks go out of balance just from sitting on a shelf. Others can get dropped 5 feet onto concrete and not affect it at all.

I’d highly recommend getting a balance job done anyway. If it’s done correctly, they’ll balance the crank, pistons, rods, and flywheel together. It shouldn’t be that expensive to have done, and could gain you tens of thousands more miles out of your build, compliments of more even wear on your bearings and rotating assembly in general.

Agree 100% its pretty cheap insurance from the unknown damage.

There's a lot of guys out there who even have internet following that still think balancing a motor means just rods and pistons- that's usually done before acquiring the parts, OE and aftermarket.
A real balance involves every rotating part and is generally the first thing done to a real race motor. I would go on this despite a minor impact on your foot and a wood floor having zero chance of bending a drop forged crank meant to sling **** around at those kind of RPMs.
