Definately not true. The drummer in my band, Chris, is awesome at drums. He's crazy as hell and beyond ADD/ADHD, but he can play any instrument he picks up. He plays drums, piano, guitar, bass, trumpet, french horn. Just about any instrument he picks up he can play.

I look at drummers as very special people. You have to be coordinated enough to be uncoordinated (Get your arms and feet to move at different times).

Man drums are rediculous. I wish I could play, but I went with guitar instead because you can't exactly practice drums without being loud as ****. And I don't think my roomate and neighboors would appreciate it.

hey guys...im a drummer too..have been for 9 years or so. used to have an older tama set. not the best. used to play set pretty heavily with a band but when i went to marching band, i transitioned more to rudimentary ****.

i'm thinking about getting another set? any suggestions? i've played on an old ludwig and a new tama rockstar. the old lugwig sounded much better!

anybody like their dw's? what materials you guys like? birch/maple/etc..?

instead of travis barker, i'd rather listen to Neil Pert or maybe Buddy Rich.

or for marching: any Cadets or percussion from Blast!

I drummed for 6 years. I have a few friends now that rip on the guitar so I've been saving for a new kit!

depends on what sounds good to you. both are great kits. i would suggest going to your local music store and playing on both. i personally prefer Pearl, but Tama makes great kits too. the Starcast mounts on Tama rockstars i think are better than Pearl's ISS mounting. if exports came with the optimount system like the higher end Pearl kits, that would be kick ***.

your question is like asking ford or chevy....its just personal preference
