Where are the drummers?
Very nice set up
I play for our church band. We have two sets/ types of drums. Our acoustics are Tama's with Evans heads and our electrics are Roland V-drums...I prefer the acoustics
I've only been playing for about 1-1/2 years but its a blast...wish I had started sooner

For fellow small neighborhood or apartment dwellers... Let me recommend Hart Dynamics kits, with the exception of the prodigy.
I play a Hart Studio Series with a Roland PD-6. Its a budget setup, but it was really just purchased for occasional use. It sounds great and feels good. It was the only option for where I live. You can't beat being able to play the drums a 1am with people sleeping in the house.
The other big bonus is being able to switch from oak, to birtch, brass to steel snare, reverb, dry, bright, crisp, distorted, locker room, lo-fi, etc, at the push of a button or two. You literally have some 100 kits to choose from and hundreds of options within those kits, as well as user kits, options in those, etc.
Obviously they don't feel or sound as good as a real kit, but having bashed them for years when I was still playing acoustic drums, I was extremely surprised to find I actually ejoyed playing an electronic kit. The feel of the mesh heads is similar, but not equal.

I don't have many pics of my kit, but I have a few from when it was recently in the studio:

My setup changes by the week. Lately I've been trying to "keep it simple" so my setup is just:
-13" Zildjian A Custom hats
-20" Paiste Signature series ride
-22" Premier special ed. kick, not muffled
-14" Pearl Maple free-floating snare
-Tama double braced hardware
-DW 9002 double pedal

God this thread brings back memories. I used to play. Had a pearl. Had a garage band for a bit. Just about when i was finally comfortable playin double bass i had to sell my set due to parental/neighbor/financial reasons. God ive been to so many Guttermouth shows, i love those guys
BeeResponsible, your band Skyline Collapse sounds pretty good
. You guys sell cd's on your site? Also where are you guys based from?

We have two EP's out, but we neither of them are in production any longer, as we've had different lineups on each CD, and we now, once again, have a new guitarist...But we're going back in the studio at the end of nov. to began our new EP.
We're based out of So Cal. The High Deser to be exact. Same place Face 2 Face originated. Thanks for the kind words.

I have a dw set and a pearl session set. I hate my pearl with a passion but love my dw with all my heart. My dad use to always ask why I would spend more money on a drum set then people spend on their cars.

yeah i love it. it allows you to make "chords" easier with the other toms, along with other things its nice for. the white 16" floor tom is from my old tama rockstar kit.

i just bought 72 dollars worth of stuff today
ill try and take pics tommorow
I got two remo coated pinstripes (the 19 dollar ones)
and a 16 remo black dot in the middle.
The heads are much much better quality than I had before. They are worth what I payed.
I also bought some Zildgian rock sticks. They are freaking awesome!!!
I thought I like the pro mark ones, but the zildgians just are so much better!
one the other hand...im having a little trouble tuning my drums. Does anyone have any tips? I just cant get them the way I think they are suppoesed to be.
I have two (either 11 or 12 inch) toms, and a 16 inch tom. Is there a rule of thumb on tuning? are the toms supposed to hit a certain note?
need some advice!

no they dont have to hit a certain note. it just depends on what you prefer.
i personally have 4 toms. 2 rack and 2 floor. i tune my drums to the bugle cry for "charge"
i always have my reso head loser than the batter. with new heads just be sure to seat them properly. stretch them good before tightening.
here's a link with some tuning tips:
