S362ett Restrictor Help
Hey guys, I have a Bullseye S362ett turbo. I just got a new one this summer. So its only been ran about 15 runs. I have a little bit of oil in my intercooler and know my drain is good. Ive seen the discussion of adding a oil restrictor and not having one with bullseye turbos. I believe bullseye says to not run one but Ive read threads on people saying you should use one bc of the same problem i'm having. I currently do not have one, but am pretty sure that the turbo is just being over oiled. What size restrictor should I use? Anyone else with this turbo using a restrictor? I believe I'm using a -4an feed line.
TIA

Two things...
1. How do I check to see if its -3 or -4
2. Wouldnt it be cheaper to get a restrictor? Bc if i get a -3 fitting, then I also have to buy a new line as well.

Josh.....Good to see you again, Get that clutch fixed!!!!, Why don't you PM "Shodan" on this site. Thats who I bought our turbo from, and we are not using a restrictor on it.I had to pull the pipes on our car and did not have that problem.... And we lost to Prescott 10.87 on a 10.85 dial in to his 11.06 and 11.05 dial in.He had a 2 bye runs to get to us and that was a bunch of crap not to be a bad sport but I was pissed,,,,I will talk about this later....Old Man Bob
Josh... a restrictor would be cheaper then a stainless line, if you need a new line let me know I think I have one from the old setup its yours for free. What size line are you using for drain and how is it setup that might be the problem?? Are you on a sandwhich off the filter?
The restrictor would be the cheaper solution of the 2.
We generally use a -3 w/ no restrictor and a -10AN drain line. This setup seems to do best. What does your oil pressure get up to?

How do I figure out if its -3 or -4? I just cant remember since I put it on so long ago. I'm using a very short -10 for the drain, no kinks. Ive just read of people using a -4 and having problems with over oiling the turbo, Where theres just so much oil it pushes right past the seals and into the compressor side and into the intercooler. I know all the parts of the turbo arent warn, Its a brand new turbo as of this season. I'm almost certain i'm using a -4.
And I believe oil pressure is the normal 50-60psi

Do you have a spare -3 to 1/8th or -4 to 1/8 male/male fittings laying around. Its hard to tell in a photo, but the 2 side by side are easy to tell apart.
Josh...Without doing a search in my mess, I have this new line and fitting,Its a Earls premade

The smaller line doesnt change your oil pressure issue guys...you need to reduce oil pressure to these turbos. Here's a cheap fix...I took the fitting that goes into the turbo side and welded up the hole and then drilled it .070" all my oil problems went away.
So your saying that all I need is a .070" restrictor then? Are you using that setup on a bullseyepower turbo? I just found a .065" restrictor...maybe I'll pick that up and give it a shot. Thats close enough to your .070. It says it's for Journal bearing turbos and large ball bearing ones. Should be good right?
Based on talking to a couple reputable sources, people are saying to use a -3an line with no restrictor. I will try that and see if it fixes the problem.

Been running a s 366 for two seasons
At first I had a 4 an, oil was in the inlet
Switched to a 3 an with no restrictor, not a problem since
Id say it has at least a hundred passes on it with the smaller feed and is daily driven at 515 whp on 93 octane and traps 138 mph
Bullseye said it needed a larger feed but borg recommends the 3 an on their similar 300 sx turbos or at least that's what it says on full races website
I just went with what works

I know this is an old thread but I too was having some of these issues when running my s256. I can't remember the oil line size I was using but for the return it was a -10 so I am certain that wasn't the issue. Did any of the suggestions posted here help the issues?
