Rules??

In Power Street, the AWD cars that went mid 10's where on the DOT tires that the fwd cars were on. Due to the rules being fairly grey, most got by with running a version of the M/T ET Street.........Not what the rules were intended to be..........
Now the FWD cars will be on Drag radials, as well as the AWD cars......
Just so you know, this is how everyone gets confussed on everything. When people try and remember what the rules are.........
Sorry to be an *** about this, but, we will just have to wait for the rulebook to be released now. I don't want anymore info passed out that is incorrect........</TD></TR></TABLE>
all i hear people say is "email so and so if you want to find out whats allowed"....this just shouldnt be happening. people within nopi have allowed this misinformation to start and continue by releasing tidbits of information in small doses to select people which of course gets misconstrued. i want to see the rules just as much as the next guy, but either release them officially or dont let anything leak. im not banking on what anyone says they've heard.

Mike, as you and most believe, not everything you hear is true. Thank you for believing in that.
You are correct, some do misconstrue the info you give them, others make note and don't spread what they are not sure of. You have to understand, I am trying to work wit hthe racers on what I can.
Alot of the questions are answered as simply as yes, it is allowed and no, it is not.
Some of the questions take greater detail to keep a racer on the right track, and some things I can not commit to answering until the final version of the rule book is released.
This is why I said "we will just have to wait for the rulebook to be released now. I don't want anymore info passed out that is incorrect"

Does anyone realize the entire 5th page of this thread was filled with " I heard ?"
I have been very vocal about wanting the rules but rumors are just no good for anyone.

[QUOTE=AllMoToRB18c]Imagine how all motor cars feel about running this class.Everyone said it was such a good idea just because Loan did well.Everyone doesnt have the engine program that Loan has or the money her team has.[QUOTE]
Her motor didn't really cost that much. Since I know what you motor cost just add another 2000. But you ran very close to wear she was anyways. =P
In the turbo car, when we ran 10.8 we had it turned down to the high 690 and low 700s. That can explain the 147mph on the drag radial.

i see another whole week going by with nothing. g/l at the first race. don't come out encouraging everyone to attend/participate for the 3rd race, when attendance/participation sucks for the 2 first races.

haha well my engine cost me a grip and i was close to her but weighing less
but i wasnt really talking about just me.Im tryin to speak for most of the comp4 racers who might not be competitive in PS.I might do ok in that class but i love racing against other NA cars not turbo AWD/FWD cars.

You just want to blow me away
You just want to blow me away
for what it is worth, this is what i was told
min weight for fwd car is turbo street-- 2450
add 50 lbs for a/w intercooler
add 50 lbs for a fuel cell
exhausts--not required unless mandated by the track.
rwd cars are 2800lbs, 70mm turbo limit.
my car is heavy to begin w/, a vw cabriolet. so im going to go the cell and a/w intercooler. I wont be competitive--as i dont see any 4cyl vw going mid 9's. but car will be built how i want it and hopefully consistancy will pay off.

hahaha. most of the mid 10's in AWD were on TRUE STREET RADIAL tires and when on the drag radials the AWDs all broke as Anthony said in a earlier thread. NO FWD turbo car has gone 10s in competition since the CM car 2 years ago did it on BFG's. You specificly said the FWD guys could run a bias ply last year so how that was grey area I dont know and I didnt see not ONE AWD with a bias ply last year in powerstreet. NOT ONE!!!!!!
last year-If the AWD guys ran street radials less breakage. FWD on bias plys they would have less breakage and all motor slick cars have low breakage
This year- AWD guys will stat on street radials and still go 10s. slick all motor cars will do the same. FWD turbo cars with destroy drivetrains and not hold a match to the competition.
THANKS!!!!!!

I'd like to stay on the M&H 235's if thats possible. I spent a good part of the year trying to set the car up for the M&H's and now that I have them figured out. I cant run them.
ive heard so many different things about different weight penalties i think im just going to build my car to weight 3500 lbs so i know it will be legal.
ive decided that nobody knows what the hell they are talking about except (hopefully) the NHRA.
Glen im glad im not in your shoes right now lol

NHRA said the same thing
when I stated that this (2007) would be there last year.... (search my past posts)
They stated that they would be around for years to come and had inked a deal with sony till 2009+
You stating that your deal with NHRA is for 4 years...means nothing..You are governed by the laws of economics..case in point you have a smaller schedule then last year
even tho your a "combined" santioning body....The Laws governed what you was able to ink (tracks) and the laws are still effecting your payouts since your currently working on sponsorship $$$
