Safe? Yes. Is there any reason to? No.

if its unleaded it wouldn't hurt it, it would also clean up your injectors a little. if it's a stock si you really wouldn't be able to tell that big of difference. But it sure smells good when you burn it though.

Re: (Jokerluv)
it would probably hurt performance. 100 octane will be a slow burn... unless you retune your fuel and advance your ignition maps, i don't think it will help at all.

Re: (ndogg)
Ndogg is completely right. Unless your vehicle needs 100 octane it will most likely hurt you more than help you. 100 octane does burn slower and unless your motor really needs it you are better off with 94 on a Type-R motor. For like a D16 I would run 87. You will see more power with 87 than with 91.

it wont make any difference.
For the person who made the post, do you have any idea why people use race gas? or are you one of those people that buys plug wires and considers them an updgrade?
Unless you have some real mods, that can benefit from the timing advance that the race gas will allow you its not worth the effort.

Thats because your wallet was lighter giving you a better power / weight ratio. Higher octane will hurt you on a stock car. Stick to whats recommended. Your not going to gain power by running a high octane on a stock car. Guys who fill up stock cars with 94 are idiots and wasting their money.
Higher octane burns slower and as a result a stock car will make less HP because it's taking longer to get a complete burn. When that complete burn happens your too far after TDC and the power isn't being applied to the piston at the right time.
