race gas only helps when the car is tuned for race gas. Speaking of, with these gas prices, what is 100+ octane going for these days?

Yeah, and I'm not sure what an LS requires for octane, but you're probably wasting your money on the 94 as well.
Octane doesn't = performance boost. At least on a stock motor.

Good point I forgot about that. Hell even that 94 octane is an overkill right now... 87 or 89 would prolly suffice. I use 85 octane (I am at altitude though so my 85 is like your guys 87).

Re: is race gas ok to run on stock ls engine (AutoXer)
well i was just going to go up to the track to run my car for a before and after test. the engine was just rebuilt and since its been in the car i run 94 just to keep things burning clean. i know 100 ocatane doesnt give me a performance boost, i was just gonna fill it with like 2 gallons and roll up there with a pretty much empty gas tank. what can i do to build a good n/a ls engine without vtec and good reliability. im looking to put down at least 170 with the ls.

I'm not 100% on that, but I have a friend who had an ls with gsr head, toda cams, valvetrane, i/h/e, bored throttle body (not sure on size), skunk 2 IM, and dynoed well over 170. of course that was with a gsr head, but you get the idea.

ok guys lets use some common sence . why would you put VTEC KILLER cams in a non vtec head???
94 is way overkill on your setup already. use 91 at the track and have fun.

if your car doesnt need race fuel all race fuel does is clean your fuel system. put a gallon in if you havent run any injector cleaner lately and then just run what an ls calls for.

If anything, race gas is just going to slow you down. To see any improvement, if any, you're going to have to mess with the timing. IMO, not worth the $ of race gas.
