As far as I know....yes. I thought this was in the NHRA rulebook. Unless something has changed in the last few years. Am I wrong??

I just found it. The rule states as follows
6:3 Window Net
A ribbon-type or SFI Spec 27.1 mesh-type window net is mandatory on any car required by the rules to have a roll cage.
Window net has nothing to due with ET

yeah, but having a cage does, so if your car doest run an ET thats nessesary to have a cage, you dont need a net

Depends on the tech inspector. I have been told before that I needed to run my net regardless of ET (or mph) because I had a full cage. I've also made many, many, runs without my net. It just depends on who's looking. Kinda like D-bars...

The orginal poster of this thread didn't say anything about ET. He said he has a cage, but doesn't run the ET/MPH needed for a net. I think he is confused, I was just stating what the rule says, not my personal opinion. Assuming that his car is fast enough for the cage, it is required to have a window net.
