o-ring on stock block ?
Anyone have any experience o-ringing a stock sleeved b-series ? if so input would be wonderful ! wondering if i o-ring the block inbetween the iron sleeve and the aluminum if i might be promotiong it to crack ?
Lol what you are trying to do isnt going to be a magic fix for stopping a sleeve from cracking or shifting but if you just want to give a machine shop some extra spending money have the head o-ringed instead since there not enough material on a stock sleeve to o-ring it.
i have an isky o-ring cutter so it wouldnt cost me any money
and i understand there is not enough room on the iron sleeve but the aluminum part or possibly between the 2 ? i am not trying to stabalize the sleeve with the oring rather seal the headgasket better.

well i would have agreed with the last statement but we have ran up into the high 40 lbs even into the low 50psi range on stock sleeves. with a Borg 72mm i do on the other hand have problems going through headgaskets! same short block 40psi+ for 3 seasons! as stated before looking for someone with experience on this 1.

I dont know if this will help you....this was waaaaay back in the budget days.... but about 12-13 years ago i was having head gasket problems with a stock ls motor (using stock studs) at about 15 psi.... i had a friend at a local machine shop o-ring the head with stainless steel wire and i think they stuck out about 5-6 thou and still used the stock head gasket and it totaly fixed the problem....i was even re-using head gaskets 2-3 times just sprayed them with copper spray....i even sprayed it with a 50 shot of nitrous....but once a month i was taking the motor apart to replace pistons due to cracking ringlands.... but it was all fun back then!!!!!
lol andy....
everyone thats hating its for his daily on e85 boosted high compression... like 13.5 here and he has the **** to do it for nothing. if its going to save future problems why not do it.

Sorry, I can't believe that you have run 50psi from a S372 on a stock block. That is 800+ whp territory. Comments like that make myself and anyone else on here that has half a clue think that you are completely full of ****.
The sleeves will go before the HG needs to be o-ringed. End of story.

o-ring the head before you o-ring the stock sleeve. also leave out the blockguard they hurt more than they help.
if you on a budget pm me. i have a process which is cost affective and works.
