I think if those guys can afford to bring 2 cars, they should just put all of their efforts into just making one of them a pro car and get a tow vehicle and call it a day.
but, hey props to those that can

how about this, what if there is a class that allows nitrous only cars to run slicks and require turbo cars to run street legals. does that make up for the gap?
How about this. A class that allows only one power adder, no matter what it is.(nitrous, turbo, supercharger) You have to have full interior, all glass, full body, and drag radials?

That sounds like T4 with drag radials....good, but experience has shown that the turbo cars will always win in the end. The domestic guys have fought this parity deal for years. It just doesn't work, because you get into a nightmare of weight penalties, engine restrictions, etc., trying to even out the different power potentials of each power adder combination. It becomes a huge issue for the sanctioning body that has to tech all these cars. A true entry level street class needs to have easy to police, broad based rules that can be checked in the tech lanes in about 20 sec. As far as minimum weights, imagine how long the events would take to run if every car had to be weighed after every pass. Just my thoughts........

i think a Dot tire FWD class would be cool too . i built my car with intentions of running in the T4 class. But they are just getting out of control. The Street classes arent even really street cars. i know there is nothing to do about it , but it just sucks that all these cars are trailor queens with full interior so they are considered street cars. People just cant compete anymore. Makes it no fun . There is a street tire class, but who with FWD can compete with RWD's and AWD cars in a Honda? I think a FWD street tire class would prob be cool. But that still doesnt really help for the guys who have built their cars with 600hp to just throw some street tires on it and run low 11's in that class too. I think its a no win situation to tell you the truth.
And Mackspeed its easy for all your comments when your top of your class and your buddies are the top of their class too. When have you ever been on the bottom scraping to get up top. Its easy to see it from your perspective in your position right now . but just think about the people who arent as fortunate as you to get the kinda help you guys do from sponsors or whatever

I think a street tire class is a great idea. It's not about power in that class. You will come to find that it's more about tuning to the track and suspension setup. Your typical 600hp dyno queen will NOT win that one! This class will be a drivers/tuners class! I like the idea!
only 1 power adder. all turbo. but not enuff of it to go hi9's to low 10's all day. people like me who barely have th emoney to build the car let alone to afford to get a big truck and trailor and not worry if things break becuase they can trailor home and hav the spare parts. . . I dunno just seems like its a Pro class for full interior cars. Not really for the little guys anymore. Unless i can pick up a sponsor or someone to donate a few things i wont be racing in the T4 class this year. ill suck it up , detune the car and run brackets and have a decent chance in winning. All driver skill there. Doesnt matter who has the most moeny. Thats just my opinion as a "Little Guy" who just loves to race.
You are right Tony. Actually, You probably want see alot of 600hp cars in this class anyway, since there is only one power adder, and drag radials.
i think it will get more down to skill in this class too. getting 26inch slicks to hook isnt as hard as getting street tires to hook. you will see more REAL street cars more than likely. and that gives some more mid hp cars a chance to compete without feeling like they are racing 18sec rentals and losing in brackets.

Your point is moot..it would be no difference and take no longer than any other heads-up class that is currently running, they all have min weight rules.

You could slow the 600hp cars down and make them harder to drive by making a rule that makes 205s the biggest drag radial you could run

that is true . maybe some sort of Size limit on the DR's to. . 205 might be extreme . maybe 225 or so. Will this class be very strict on matching seats? thats the other thing i never really understood as long there is 2 front seats is there really an issue?
Also....In a effort to get the biggest turn out for such a dot fwd street class.I think it would be best to combine all-motor-nitrous-turbo into one class and handicap turbo and nitrous with time penalties..like lets just say all-motor cars get a 1 second head start at the tree and nitrous cars get a .5 second.
thats not really heads up racing then . its gonna end up being like the Bracket class running 12.99 and quicker. there really is no easy approach to making it fair for all the cars unless more classes are made. but thats alot of changes.
the easiest thing i cant think on the officials making the class. would be weight limits. let the nitrous and all motor guys be a little lighter to make up for the difference. Isnt thay how they do it in the street tire class for RWD and AWD guys?
Oh ok . the weight limit is the fairest thing i can think of. but then again its a catch 22, becuase if its a street class and the car must resemble a street car, you can only take out soo much . lol. I dont know how you guys do it. i guess it is tuff to be fair to everyone.
