they should just have to run in turbo4.
i would like to see a class for the smaller guys that are not sponsored.i don't know how you would do it,but i think some guys are getting discouraged when they are getting beat so bad and they just give up because they think they will never have the $$ to be competitive.i mean, some of the kids that are showing up have cars that run mid to low 12's can barely make the field.most of them want to race heads up,but can't compete with the really fast cars.i am afraid eventually, that the people that would normally race won't even bother to show up

I think it would be great. It would give the guys with a little less money a class to compete in. There was a thread a while back that showed great interest in something like his.

The question is, how do you seperate them? Run like a 12-12.99 class. Kind of like the heads up classes for bracket racers. They do that often at our local track to let the bracket guys run heads up.

What up Danny? Cage is working great.

Why create a class like that, we are trying to create a class for the guy who can't afford to build a 600hp car, not a class for a guy who built one and can't compete.

How about just getting everything together and have it so there are displacement/power adder rules...... IE smaller than 2.0 1800lbs, 2.1-2.4 2100lbs 2.4-2.8 2400lbs, 2.9-3.2 2700lbs all fwd....
Add 100lbs for 1 power adder and add 200lbs for 2 power adders..... Run whatcha brung, heads up racing....... You know so some of us poor guys tha just spent 2 years building a car when the rules had a spot for turbo 6 motors....... things like interior/glass/lexan are all up to how far you want to take your cars design and build......

my thoughts are that class would be a waste of time. you'd have very few entry's and maybe only 1 or 2 of them would run a number. the rest would be fast and furious guys.......

We do have a turbo 6 class. We don't want to make guys add weight or slow thier cars down. I realize Your car is a little different, being a FWD turbo 6, but we just do not have a class for that at this time.

Just get the nitrous companies to put up money for the classes and have them help promote them, it will grow. Nitrous cars cannot compete with turbo cars.

It sort brings up the debate about the Pro Mod class in Ihra (Blown Vs Nitrous) I do understand we are talking about a quarter of the hp? Makes for decent discussion.

<--thinks they should just run power 4 class!

Put them in Turbo 4, maybe give them a 100 lb. break (if there is there weight rules in NOPI P4?).... make T4 a 16 car class if you dont want to turn the 12 sec guys away.

I think it would work. You would HAVE to get nitrous companies involved. It would be a slower class but there are definately people that run only nitrous. You don't see them because they know they can't compete. It would be awhile before there were hardcore guys but I know of some quick nitrous cars.

It would probably consist of racers local to that particular track, but it could be pretty cool.

I agree it'd be a waste of time. Nitrous is not a popular power adder by itself for sportcompacts. Keep the nitrous cars in the T4 class and just give them 100lb weight break to help compete. I think the classes are good as they are, but I would like to see FWD V6's(VW's mainly) allowed to compete in T4 w/ a weight penalty. I guess you would need to change the name to allow that though. For all the guys who bitch about not being able to compete because they "don't have the money" need to figure out a better combination of parts. If you have ever been to domestic events you will see 10-20 11-12 sec cars competing in the street class where the winner is usually running a 9-10sec pass. Just because they don't have a win locked down doesn't mean that they won't compete and still have fun. I don't know whats different about the import guys

because like you said there are guys that can't afford to build a 600hp car.most of the guys can afford to build a turbo car that will not be able to compete with the big guys.my point is,it will get to the point that they won't even be able to qualify and you would just be running them off.like 30psiciv said, probably the only way to do it would be a timed heads up class like 11.00,12.00 and so on.i just don't see anyone that is interested in bracket racing.you could just go to your local redneck track for that.

i hope that comment was not directed towards anyone we know!

A little snug for me but Stacey likes it fine. She made her first four passes in the car last night, it was an experience.

i think once you start making the STREET classes all complicated like that with weight breaks and all, itll slow things down alot. its already a street class where cars have to run street equiptment, that is in lieu of making 16 "street" cars hit the scales.

and having time breaks, i.e, 11.00-12.99 etc cars... in a heads up class is a waste. people would either be slow and at the top end of the time bracket or they would just make it fast enough for the bottom of the bracket and de tune it slightly. then youve got the same problem all over again.

well you not being able to "afford" to build a certain car is not an acceptable out. it is relatively easy for a honda motor to produce 600-ish whp with off the shelf parts. its not like exotic multi thousand $ pieces of equiptment is required. if a car simply cant compete due to budget.. well unfortunatly that is motorsports. join a bowling league if ya dont have the budget. there will always be slower cars, look at the back half of the field in F1, Nascar, and IRL. Its just how things are.

I agree, there is so much room for sandbagging. Just use a dial in time and allow people to break out. This seems way to complicated for street class though.

Im in agreeance on a class that fielded heads up competion for a 11.99 index...run what u brung. A class where all the 12 second cars can run in. You can be all motor, nitrous, and or turbo. It can be for the cars that have fuel cells, fiberglass parts, and lexan. This will give those cars the chance to get heads up experience just like thier street class(all motor, fwd, rwd/awd) competitors.
