Default liberty handcuff install problems!!

ive been tryin to get my tranny put back together after putting in a new final drive and liberty handcuff, but for some reason i am unable to get my tranny case to set back together. the snap ring on the counter shaft wont lock into it and in not sure if i need to add more shims to the cuff or what!! just curious as to what everyone is doing when they install the cuffs. searched for cuff installs and havent seen anything and liberty hasnt been any help. some install pics or something would be helpful...thanks for any help and sorry if this is considered the wrong section but i figured i would get better response from the drag racers section...

could be that.. or sometimes i have to pull up on the shaft with a flat head.. or flip the trans over and knock it a little against a piece of wood for the clip to set

yeah i did all the above and no luck. ive never had this problem before so im not real sure what the issue is. i was curious if everyone uses the shims that liberty ships with the cuff and if i have them in the right spot.. i used 2 shims first and couldnt get the clip to go so then i used the 3rd shim but still no luck...

make sure the 3 4 slider isnt installed upside down. look and see how much of the bearing is hanging over the end of the shaft. it should be close to flush.

i have done this a time or 2. hahaa.

If your case is about 3/8 of an inch from closing, check your top countershaft bearing. When you look at it, it looks even but really it has a slight taper. Install it with the writing on the bearing facing up.

^^ very tru it will f u up every time. & dont forget about the washer on the main shaft facing the right way.

also make sure u can pick up the counter shat with your hand so u know it will go up into the snap ring.
