6 "point" cage needed for 11.99 and faster, which "points" though?
I am in need of a cage very quickly and the closest 1/4 mile track to me will MAKE SURE i have a cage in the car (which is a good thing)
it says i need a 6 point
now in saying 6 points are they referring to:
-2 from main hoop(obviously)
-2 from back half(obviously)
-2 from where else?
do they mean door bars?
or do they mean 2 diagonal bars from the main hoop to the floor?
i would like to add door bars but i want swing outs, and will not be able to add those in right this minute
any help is great

2 front door bars ,but if your puttin in a 6 point you might as well just go straight for the 10 point.

Sing outs are cool for practicality-in a street car, but suck for the whole purpose of the cage- chassis rigidity. weld em and deal (LOL- i didnt like it either)...

you are correct they havent updated thier site yet, this rule changed due to General Motors and fast corvettes coming from the showrooma capable of 11.80s
last track visit was 11.20-11.10s so i know i might accidentally hit a 10second pass

WHat GM car or corvette came from the showroom capable of 11.80's? I know the new z06 is close, but the rule change came a while ago...

I've personally seen a new c6 Z06 trap 123-125mph. That's good for a mid to low 11..
as far as the cage goes. make the door bars solid. swinging is nice, but like the others are saying. Safety is most important.

Re: (allstokhonda)
you would have 2 points from roll bar, two from roll bar back to struts, and 2 to the front under/near dash
i thought stock vettes are running low 12's

What did it run? 11.7 was their advertised 1/4 time, but I haven't saw anyone break into the 11's yet...

the NEW vette(06) model was tested and with NO parts added, they were able to run an 11.6, tire pressure was about the only thing they did, i also think they removed the paper airfilter

C5 Z06's were capable of running 11's stock. Several new Z06's at the local track have gone in the 11.30-11.50 range on street tires, and one has gone 10.9's on bfg's.
My question for the people are saying that its 11.49 and lower, do you run in NOPI at all? They are still at 11.99.

If you are trapping 135 and not running 11.4's you don't really need to be racing

thats right. if you have a stock firewall, floor and body, rearward of the firewall, you can run a roll bar in place of a full cage if your car runs 10.00-10.99. i don't see any mention of speed in that paragraph therefore speed doesn't matter.

but i am pretty sure if you want to run SPFWD, this exception doesnt count.
