Default Help on improving my times gsr turbo hatch (times and setup inside)

Well i headed out to the 131 for some drag times on the hatch. I picked up some drag radials from my buddy to try to get some traction this year. I knew they were touch small (BFG 205/50/14) for me but my buddy gave me sweet deal on them.

So i get there to massive line to pay and then massive line for Tech, I'm thinking oh great.. So then i see the line for staging is short, SWEET. So i go swap my wheels do my susp. adjustments. go to get in line and its backed all up. Some guy lost his oil all down the track. So after an hour forty min. they get it clean and we start to go. i get one run in and i hit a 2.3 60ft and 13.0 at 117mph. I wanted to hit a 12.9 and i'd be happy, so i'm great i can make it. go line up drop few psi on tires wait another 40 min. Line it up and go i hit a 2.1 60ft and a 12.5 at 119mph. SO PUMPED cause i was spining 1st and most of 2nd till 6k. It was now 12:30 and i was down for the night i made my goal plus some. I still have to add my LSD and i was 50lbs over weight due to my bad and over fillling with to much gas DUH. Still i'm super pumped and thought i'd share. Any ideas would be great as i'd love to get faster.

-1st run
R .6358
60ft 2.36
330ft 5.98
1/8 8.7
1/8mph 92.59
1/4 13.0
1/4mph 117.19

-2nd run
R .7190
60ft 2.18
330ft 5.72
1/8 7.9
1/8mph 91.65
1/4 12.5
1/4mph 119.11

So yea thanks guys for reading sorry i suck at english.

You should be able to get into low 12 at least if you get that 60ft down into the 2.0 range....just get more practice.

In the future I would get 225 BFGs.....205 is too small for turbo and I'm sure your 60 and 330 are suffering because of it. 1.9 60 should get you into the 11's

Also keep in mind....the hotter the better for the drag radials....second gear burn outs should help.

What PSI were your tires did you run on the second run? Most people run 12 PSI or so...some people run lower depending on the track and horsepower levels. Everyone has a different sweet spot.

What rpms does your turbo kick in at? i like the set up

Yea i knew they would be to small for my HP range, but i got them for super deal from a friend.

I did do 1st gear burn out not very long. i ran 15psi in the tires for the 1st run and i ran 12psi for the 2nd.

I see full boost around 3800 or so. i ran 10.5psi boost in all gears right off the wastegate.

Thanks for the input.

What size tires do you think will work best for my HP range. The BFG are 22" i think. I was thinking liek a 23" or MAYBE a 24"???? go 225 instead of 205.

Definatly get the 225's. People have ran 10 seconds in the quarter on them

Second gear burnouts should help get them hotter and into the STICKY ICKY range You want to keep them spinning untill you see smoke, then let the ebrake down and let the tires pull you forward a little.

Some traction bars or some stiffer mounts should help stiffin things up front preventing wheel hop and your tires moving back and fourth while bangin the gears

I have the rear engine mount, front lower tranny mount and the Dr. side upper are all solid. I'm running koni yellows for sturts. I want to get bars BAD, but prolly not till next year.

Thanks guys.

With the solid mounts...the traction bar isnt going to do much. Your solid mounts are already doing what the traction bar is designed to prevent.

All you need to do is heat up the tires more And when these wear out get the 225's

The 205's should still get better 60's. Do a 3rd gear burnout and run like 9-10 psi cold. My non driving *** pulled 1.9 60's with around 220whp. You don't need anymore power, just some more seat time and you're good to go.
