Its not gasoline so its deffinatly not "pump gas" you could call it pump ethanol or pump fuel but its also deffinatly not "race gas"

 

if you cant buy it at every pump its not pump!

I think when people say pump gas they mean Gasoline that you can get at any gasoline station. Although you can "PUMP" E85 at SOME Gasoline stations, It is considered an "Alternative Fuel" to gasoline therefore not being "Gas"... Also 100 octane unleaded fuel is available at some gas stations but the ones that I know have it they clearly have it marked as "Race Gas"...

 

I buy it at the pump so yes it's technically pump gas. But when people ask me what fuel I say e85 because there's a big difference between e85 and 93oct. Besides the price

 

I always specify. I would never say I'm on pump gas if I'm actually running E85. Then again I'm often a stickler for details and want people to know them. Like I wouldn't say I was running E85 if I was running %85 ethanol and %15 C16. I would atleast call it special E85.

i always tell people im on e85 as well it seems to get a better respnse from them lol, but to me its pump since it comes from a pump, and commercially bought cars are running on it as well

you cant get 93 in states that follow California emissions
but vp100 is legal for on road use in all states and carb legal and is even sold in some states at the pump lol

i go to a ga station and see toyota's using e85 and low and behold they are getting it from the same pump but differant hose that they get 91 from hmmmm interesting

i dont need to go to a track to get it or vp or sunoco or torco or blah blah blah lol

to me its pump gas because it is allowable to be ran in commercially sold cars with no modifications what so ever this to me is a commercial gas therefore meaning pump to me. now ill say this i always say im on the corn not gas so my new term for it is

pump corn lol hope thats better for the haters

 

You cant just run ethanol in any car without modification. Obviously you will need a tune and that same thing can be said for race gas. Some instances you will need a different fuel line and filters.

 

pump gas nationals is a race were racers drive there cars all over the country and you have to run pump gas

and as for you say n " to be ran in commercially sold cars with no modifications what so ever "
go and take a car made in 2000 and see what the e85 does for it, new flex fuel cars have ethanol sensors that detect it and switch the maps,they are also made with e85 comparable fuel systems

next time your on a road trip and find yourself stranded in a state thats not e85 friendly you will be wishing you tuned the car on REAL PUMP gas

was a prius made in 2000 im saying that e85 was designed as a cleaner burning fuel to be sold at the pumps for fuel efficient cars " hope that helps you undertsand my pint a little better"

now ive seen from the prius to a suburban that runs e85 straight from th factory not just race cars because not every car on the road is built for racing "once again i hpe that helps you out"

further more my f350 runs on low sulfer diesel not e85 so being stranded isnt an issue for me since my car rides above the ground on a trailor lol.

 

To keep it technical....Gas is a short word that is used for GASOLINE.When you got to the GAS or FUEL station it is to "PUMP GAS" or an "ALTERNATIVE FUEL" (where applicable) such as "E85". I would "ASSume" that the difference between fuels is pretty simple to understand as E85 is not "PUMP GASoline". I don't think anyone here is hating as I myself like E85. Just trying to get the facts straight.

 

e85 is not "pump gas" its an alternative fuel.....i cant even get it from a pump in 100 mile radius from me...
i can however go to one gas station in town and they have 87 89 91 100 and 112 at the pump....so i guess 100 and 112 octane fuels must also be pump gas based on peoples thinking of e85.

crazy because with all the emissions you guys have in cali i figured yall would be flooded with e85. now not within a 100 miles from you just means you dont want to run it bad enough to go get it to me man thats all.

ofcourse more cars have been manu'd to run on 89-93 with no issues at all for years so of course its the more promonent fuel at the pumps.

haha, is 92 octane a pump fuel? last i checked the number of pumps was about equal for e85 and 92 octane. California gotta have their special fuel.

 

Race gas. Already have a race gas tune tune that rides out pretty well, So c16, plus theres no e85 pumps near my area. Lots of people have been getting drums, driving to lakeland or where ever and just hauling it back.

 

I can buy 100 octane unleaded, and 110 leaded at more station from pumps, then e85 in my area. So to me, no, its not

 

I dont really care....if its publicly sold, and allowed for use on PUBLIC roadways of any type....it is a "PUMP FUEL"

If you start tuning your civic on Kerosene...then we can argue lol
