e85
so those that use e85 are broke or cheap asses lol
hmmm i dont think thats the case here man the reason i started this thread is because you have those that wanna run the expensive ****, and those who dont.
my crx use to be for the street but it now it isnt a of this year.
so TDAUTOWORKS are cheap bastard according to you because they run e85 as well huh.
traction on the street is controlled through vss dipshit not everyone runs boost by gear.
its like this you have those running e85, and others running q/c and its a contant battle between whats better both have valid points, and will never agree lol. i have been reading for 2 years about how e85 eats your fuel system up or carrode it if you will and i still have yet to see an issue in my fuel system what so ever.
yes its ethanol, and 85% so when tuning it takes 35% more to acheive what you could get from lead but man what a trade off with what your not spending on lead so ill take it.

oh and racing on the streets to me is pretty freaking stupid, and just goes to show you probly pick out the guys you think you can beat, and your not going to the track where you wouldnt be in control of that
Not really man, I hardly ever run my car on the streets and when I do its some hotshot that thinks hes all big and bad whether it be in a domestic or some honda boy that just turbod his stock motor and thinks hes the **** and doesnt even have it tuned. Most of the time running on a stock ecu and injectors. There are not that many fast imports in my city. There are a couple properly done ones but yeah even they challenged me and lost by far. There is no 9 second hondas or imports in my city. My car at the time being a mid 10 second car was by far the fastest import in town and yeah most domestics lost pretty bad as well. Not like im 30 minutes from a track where I can say, fine lets take it to the track if you want to race. Im 3 1/2 hours from the nearest track. And I go as often as i can. Im all for the track. But when some punk tries to challenge. We have many 4 lane open highways out there that are absolutely flat, brand new, and totally dead at 1am.
But yeah, for the most part, I go to the track. Everyone here knows my car anyways and its been a long long time since ive been challenged. Just for the simple fact they know they will lose. 140+mph trap speeds for a street car is no joke. Enough to spin the DR's up to 145mph on the street.
Think whatever you want about e85 man. All i know is it is a higher octane rated fuel and most consider it a specialty fuel like race gas. For the simple fact that it has the anti knock properties of one. Just because its cheaper, who cares. Everyone who thinks pump gas think 91 or 91 octane gasoline.

If I'm at the track I say I run pump 91 or pump e85 or rocket e85 or VP C16 etc etc. You just have to be specific unless you are trying to be misleading.
lol e85 is on its own level for sure
i really wanted see all the differant opinions on here about, and have seen from the small guy to some of the bigger fish.
im on corn thats my fuel i do however get it from a gas station pump, and to be truthfull here in ky its a little drive to obtain it but im good with it.
i would absolutely love to try some q for my car since msot seem to be able to pick up quite a bit of power from it, but i have discussed this with my tuner and he says Jeff the money you would spend in a season would be greater than just throwing some id2k's in and making 750 plus. so im going to stick with it.
thanks for all the comments i think this has been a pretty good think tank for the most part lol

It takes roughly 28% more fuel to output the same amount of joules of energy with E85 vs Pump 91. So just multiply the per gallon price by 1.28 to get a rough estimate of the equal price.

Its 85 percent not gasoline so it just cracks me up when people call it "pump gas" and now some people are running straight ethanol and calling it E85 in the sportsman classes, so we have to test it, then they mix E85 with 15% of whatever their heart desires and you have custom 85 percent alky fuels as "E85" which isn't in the same ballbark as the "Pump E85"
Let me ask this to the E85 guys. Can you go on a nice lengthy drive (400+miles) without havin to plan your route based on a very select number of stations with e85 or have to carry a can of extra fuel if say you want to drive to the coast and camp. Or go to a distant lake, or visit friends in another state? I love the excuses, " I can't go man,I dont have room for 30 gallons of extra fuel, can I ride with you?"
lol my bad i thought this was the drag racing forum not the im tuned on 91 octane for the street forum
drag racing people not the street this is where this was suppose to go, and the fact that we are talking drag racing i thought it wouldnt be an issue keeping the streets out of it
my bad guess im the only one n ot trying to race everyone on the street to boost my ego who knew

Smells like popcorn. lol
Umm that's why I can afford more than 1 car lmfao

at one point i ran e85 in my dragcar and my daily. i love the ****. ive also ran out of fuel in my drag car and been forced to put PUMPGAS in my in it till i could find e85.
see what i did there?
see what i did there?
it all comes down to personal prefferance like everything else in the world
i could have 3 differant brand new turbo's in front of me that all do the same thing but they all have differant names ide pick the one that the people around me have always said was the best lol.
ahhhhhh prefferance

Yes! E85 fuel to 91 pump at a flip of a switch...
I am being a smart ***, But i have 2 maps.
E85 is not pump gas just because it CAN and sometimes does come out of pump...It can also not come out of a pump, just the same
"pump" E85 is Gov't subsidized alternative fuel that everyone pays extra for in their federal taxes
91 octane "gas" is the highest octane gas sold in Cali, I can get 93 and sometimes 94 in NJ, these two "pump" gases are comparable, but of course I have an unfair advantage if I am trying to compare "pump gas" with some douche on the other side of the country or even the world
