Yeah no kidding I have yet to make more than one pass on a stock tranny. The albins box is the way to go, I'm saving up for a set right now for when they are officially released. Their customer service blows PPG's out of the water and not to mention the replaceable and stronger dogs, plus the helical gears help with shaft separation which we all know causes a lot of issues with bearings and cases.

PPG seems to be the way to go alot of the top dawgs are runnin them but apparently the Albins Helical set is something that alot of people have been talking about.
I spoke with Speedfactory and they said that they are having great success with the helical set at their power level (i believe 1100+)

Overall we've been extremely happy with there quality of parts, fitment and service. On my own personal car I've been running the Albins synchro gearset for the past year and a half and it's been really good to me as I can't afford to be replacing gears and final drives every other race. I street drive the car and it makes 800-900whp. I go to events and I may not be the fastest car in the class, but I make it through rounds due to the reliability of my setup (especially tranny) while others are stuck in the pits fixing parts or swapping trannys or just putting it back on the trailer. I've grown to realize the past couple years that outlasting your competition mechanically is a huge part of racing, especically with our freakishly powerful 4bangers

Feel free to contact the shop with any and all questions about the Albins stuff, Matt and James are always more then willing to share any knowledge we have on the product.

By the stories I've read about Magnus, I'd stay far away.
I've run the PPG with no issues, so aside from the price, PPG is a good choice. I am really looking forward to the release of the Albins dogsets though, as I own the twin brother to SpeedFactory's B-series Albins dog set. The replaceable dogs will be the way to go once testing is done..If you can hold out for a little while, wait for the Albins, otherwise buy the PPG.
The Liberty set is good if you arent making 900+ hp and can't afford the price tag of the other sets..

Is there some sort of date when the Albins set will be ready? The SpeedFactory site says that they have one in stock.
I was ready on the Par-Egineering site and they have an option to go with the helical cut gears but they don't recommend it for drag racing, any opinions?

wasn't eggum running a liberty? How much power was she making? From what I read that fmunk used to say it held up great. I think they actually helped liberty developed it.
I run a gforce and really like it so far, I do not have many hits on it yet but with the t1/gforce shifter its butter, best money I have ever spent. You can go to there web site but all that info is old info and not there current gear set that is being used today. Lou is a cool guy and if you need parts, hey there in the states and could have them the next day if needed.
