You can put an LS 4.266 final in it (doing that will require an ls/b16 differential also), or get a new fd. Albins has a 4.1 fd that will work with the oem gearset.
can you PM me the price of the Albins 4.1 FD shipped to 11413? I used the 4.266 of the LS, it was a littel beter but still reach 1320 mark riding the limiter (10300 rpm).
James, our DSS spool was machined wrong too. It was .120" longer between the bearing. I had to use the thinner 18mm bearings just to get it in the case
Then machined the inner cv cup to get it on.
I feel the same as you when it comes to aftermarket high end parts. Fitment definently lacks and seems to be an industry standard. Its sad really.
This thread makes me smile. Alot of broken parts are due to the consumer and the mfg gets the blame. I've seen stock **** survive 800hp and the aftermarket stuff break on 200hp. Driving style and other things play a large role on broken parts. I find it funny how people complain about the price of these transmissions. Go home and add up all the money spent to make 1000hp+. $6-7K for the part that lets you use it seems about right.
I feel like I'm in a diesel forum! "I make 1500ftlbs and my stock tranny took a ****! WTF!"
Be realistic

Ours was in a completely different area. The splines inside were left too far out to the edge, so we couldn't get our intermediate bar all the way in, it stopped ~1/4'' away. We had to cut the splines farther back, which only left ~1/4'' of spline left on that side of the spool. And there seems to be some misalignment between the splines on the 2 sides because it is extremely tough to get the bar to push through, have to use an air hammer to get it in unlike our last DSS spool. It's going back to them now that we have the car apart again for the winter re-vamp, v2.0 lol
You guys gonna go Outlaw over the winter or what?

narfdanarf: I appreciate your comment, thank you. Unfortunately, who's going to listen to some unknown British engineer (that worked with several high-end british drivetrain manufacturers may I add) who just happens to work for a "Chinese" company. One of the bitches of life I guess
The only reason we went for straight cut (instead of the semi-helical which we have always stood by) is because it halves the machining costs, and I don't want our dog gears selling for $6-7k! That's shooting ourselves in the foot because, realistically, how many people are going to spend that much on a set of gears? We've sold over 50 sets of our synchro gear set; we wouldn't have sold anywhere near that much had they been semi-helical (thus increasing the price).

I just purchased a 1-4 syncro set from Mfactory and cant wait to try it out. It gets real old spitting out gears on a stock h22 m2a4 trans. Im going to run their set and carbon syncros with a cuff for 5th as recommended by Steve. I will say this that Mfactory has EXCELLENT cust service. Once i make it back to the track I will be sure to post up how well they are doing.
Weve both run carbon syncros, and they dont work for either of us as well as OEM syncros. Both of us went back to them (OEM). The carbon (not going to get into MFG) were coming apart - debonding from the brass ring as its not a coating, its an actual insert.
Were thinking it was his error, but mine did it too. The MFG was TOTTALLY cool and standup. Hooked us up with brand new Carbon and OEM style. I put the OEMs back in and once again flawless flat foot shifting at 9K.
FYI, We just temporarily slashed the Albins sets pricing for those of you that are asking about pricing. Can't complain about that.

PM'd.
FD is seperate for the synchro sets, but it is included in the 1-4 drag dogbox price. You can use oem fd's if you want, they are compatible but not recommended for high power apps.
