Ok i been searching and still cant find all the info i need. It seems more people favor flat top pistons over dome? can anyone give me there honest opinion. Was planning to run at least 10:1 i believe that seems to be the max on that piston. But correct me if i am wrong.

some people run domed pistons on boost.... the reason a bunch of people dont do it is b/c its super high compression with boost and its hard to make good power on pump gas without detonating ..... with race gas it shouldnt be a problem... but 10:1 is a perfectly fine compression for boost... my new setup is 10:6:1 and will be on pump and race gas

flat top piston create a more efficient combustion..so yea they are safer and anything dome will have a higher compression..depends what your set ups is..but for boost dish or flat is better

 

how do flat tops create more efficient combustion than a piston with a small dome on it?

 

Think how the combustion pushes against the surface of the piston and it should be clear.
