Default Window regulator issues

Hey all,

My driver's side window fell out of the track, so I took it all apart to find the culprit, and it's not the regulator. It's the rubber/vinyl liner, clips and frame that holds the regulator to the bottom of the window. It's totally rusted out. Vinyl cracked off. I tried assembling it back together after putting the window back into the track but it just wont sit in the frame, pops right back out. What is this part called, and can I find a replacement somewhere? Does anyone make these parts?

I think I found it! The parts are numbers 16 and 7 in the following diagram:

If it's RUST, then it's then determine if the metal is rotten. If it's OK, can you remove it? Do you have a service manual? Then treat it in CLR rust remover, get some replacement rubber/vinyl.

Try this place for part numbers and diagrams:

Yes, the metal is rotten. It's beyond saving. I can remove it, the two bolts are intact. The clips are salvageable. I was lucky to find this part (7 on diagram) in stock. I will have to fashion 16 out of something...it is destroyed. I still don't know if this is vinyl or rubber. Does this cushion sell aftermarket? I figure I can cut a strip of something, clip it and fold it in there.

Wow! thanks for the site, what a resource. Much appreciated!!

I am still trying to figure out what material or product to use to clip the glass to, to secure to the new frame frail.

Well, the frame rail was completely rotten but apparently the previous owner already added a layer of caulk to keep the window secure in the rubber boot. I peeled it all away, and did the same thing except with a ton of liquid glue. What other choice do I have? After a thorough search and an ordered part, I have come to the realization this frame rail is unobtanium.

Pic of part? Is it just a metal C-channel with a slight curvature?

Here is the rail and the rubber boot. The boot on my car is pretty rotten, and the rail is down to a nub. Oh well, what do they say? Duct tape and JD weld makes a hobbyist....something?
